So Who's HOT Today In Our Archived Blog Posts 03-20-08?
Mood:  quizzical
Topic: TV Shows

So Who's

'Hot'

In Our Archived Blog Posts Today???

None Other Than...

Laura Vandervoort!

Regular Readers of our Blog know that I check our Blog Stats daily and sometimes find out that something has happened because of all the views of the archived blog posts about that person or character!

However this one is stumping me!

Our archived blog post on Laura Vandervoort is reaching 19% of our blog viewership today... but I can't find out what bloggers are looking for about her that is new in the last few days!!!

Maybe the latest 'Smallville' TV Show episodes have in her some kind of trouble... but as Tina and I don't watch that show, I wouldn't know!

Well... I'll keep looking, maybe she is going to appear at some comic or pop culture conventions and bloggers are looking to see when and where??!!

We have an ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

If you don't see what you are looking for, feel free to email us a 'want list' and if in stock, we'll place it in our eBay Featured Store just for you!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

The Rabbit With Radio Ears!

Back In the Year 1948

The Comics Industry Was Floundering Around...

For The Next Big Thing!

World War II was over and the Superheroes that were born during that time didn't have anyone really to fight... so several comics shops with just superheroes were hurting for sales...

The comics publishers were looking for anything that could keep their doors open, so they were receptive to romance, westerns, cartoons, crime, and other genres!

They were even open to printing one-shots promotional comics for companies like the one at the top right for W.T. Grant Company!

What this comic was promoting for W.T. Grant may not be remembed today... but it is another use of a bunny rabbit on a comic book cover shown here in time for Easter Week 2008!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

American Idol Results Show 03-19-08 Our Take!

Our Take On
The American Idol
Results Show
'The Top 11'
03-19-08

Wednesday Night was the 'Results Show' where the results of "America's" votes were broadast, with the ending result of one contestant being sent home...

The below were the contestants in the 'bottom three' of the Top 11 in order of being announced as such, with the scores ranked by Tina and Michael on the night of their performance:

The 'Bottom 3 Of The Top 11'

(No #)

Name of ContestantMichael's TakeScore DifferenceTina's Take
1Carly Smithson   6.5   2.59.0
2

Kristy Lee Cook

   6.5   1.05.5
3

Amanda Overmyer (pictured above)

   7.5   0.07.5

General news first:

The 'mentors' for this Season 7 were announced as: Dolly Parton, Mariah Carey, Andrew Lloyd Weber and Neil Diamond.

Idol Gives Back 2008 - scenes were shown of Fantasia and Elliott in Africa, where the money went for last Season's contributions.

The Call-In portion of the show was a little bumpy, but then again it is a 'live show' (on the East Coast).

Season 5's Kelly Pickler was back as a special guest performer... Michael enjoyed her performance... good job!

Secondly: The following are our thoughts after watching the results show night:

Tina said after Amanda Overmyer (pictured above) was announced as the person going home... "The Rock Vote is only so big among American Idol fans".  She wasn't surprised that Kristy Lee Cook wasn't going home as the 'country vote' only has one contestant to vote for at this point... however she still feels that she should have been the one to go home this week and last week...

Michael said that he although he liked Amanda's looks, that she had become what Simon had said... the same style performance every week...  Other bloggers have said she was a one-trick pony, but personally Michael feels that her performances have generally been better than the other two she was in the 'Bottom Three' with so far this season in total...

Michael also mentioned that Amanda's attitude, or at least what Idol cameras have shown of her, is a 'rocker attitude', what with the tongue sticking out so often, the 'I'll sing the way I want to sing' etc... which is something that may not have endeared her with most of the 'America' voters... Michael knows from commenting on another blogger's blog post that Amanda was not liked by several women period, whereas the 'cute' look of David A, (who was coasting IMHO), is making this a popularity contest again instead of a talent contest.... Oh welllllll.......!

Didn't catch what the theme for next week will be...

For those that missed our previous blog posts on this TV Show.... Please see the following link for our most previous blog post. We have been blogging about Season 7 since the first week:
