So Who's Hot In Our Archived Blog Posts Today???

So Who's

'Hot'

In Our Archived Blog Posts Today???

None Other Than...

Halle Berry!

Regular Readers of our Blog know that I check our Blog Stats daily and sometime find out that something has happened because of all the views of the archived blog posts about that person!

Thus today I am seeing interest in our Halle Berry archived blog posts, and checking our resources find that Halle and her boyfriend now have a new daughter!

Halle, who is 41, and her boy friend Gabriel Aubry (a 32 yrs old male model), have named their daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry!

Congrats to the new mother, who after two failed marriages finally has her first child!

Halle says she is not ready to marry again, but after playing a parent in her film 'Things We Lost In The Fire', wanted a child...

I personally enjoyed her portrayals as Storm in the X-Men Films and her Catwoman version although that movie was poorly written!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Robin Hood Of The Old West....

Robin Hood

Of The Old West...

Kid Colt, Outlaw!

Growing up in the late 1950's to early 1960's, westerns on TV and in comics were part of my everyday life.

Of the Big Three Westerns that Marvel Comics printed, it was Kid Colt Outlaw that was my personal favorite!

I just finished listing the last 26 issues that we have in stock of his comic book series that ran from 1948 to April of 1979!

KEY Issues of his print run in comic books were:

Origin in Kid Colt #11 in 1950

First gunfight with Sam Hawk was in 'Gunsmoke Western' in 1960.

Kid Colt was killed by Gunhawk in Blaze of Glory #1-4 in 2000.

Today I find that westerns are seeing a resurgence, and with the Jonah Hex western comic book movie coming out soon, this genre should show even more collectability!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

The

Quik Bunny

 Enlists The Aid Of...

Superman!

This is a 'collectors item' from the year 1987 that was published by DC Comics!

Promotional Comics are a fun genre to collect, as you'll never know what you run into when searching through comic book bins or via the internet!

This comic book cover portrays another use of a bunny rabbit on a comic book cover presented here in time for Easter Week 2008!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

The Top Eleven Show!
03-18-08 Our Take

Theme Was:
 "The Beatles Songbook"!

Last Night it was the 'Top 11' who performed on the New Stage! The Top 11 of them in a 2 Hour show!

Here are our 'scores', (based on 1-10, 10 being highest), on each performance with the 4th column showing the difference between my score and Tina's score. The 'contestants' are listed in order of performance during the night, NOT by numerical score:

2

Kristy Lee Cook / You Got To Hid Your Love Away

   6.5   1.05.5
3

David Archuleta / Long & Winding Road

   7.0   1.08.0
4Michael Johns / A Day In The Life   9.0   0.09.0
5Brooke White / Here Comes The Sun   7.0   0.57.5
6David Cook / Day Tripper   9.5   0.09.5
7Carly / Blackbird    6.5  2.59.0
8Jason / Michelle    7.5 0.57.0
9Syhesha / Yesterday    8.5 1.09.5
10Chickezie / I've Just Seen A Face (pictured above)    9.00.09.0
11Ramiele / I Should Have Known Better    7.0 0.57.5

First of all... A few general notes:

Last week it was stated that this week's theme would be the 'Lennon-McCartney Songbook' again. It wasn't.... it was opened to all of the 'Beatles Songbook'.

Tina commented last week that the band was up too high above the stage, which Ryan was proud of... and this week Ryan mentioned that the hall filled 500 members of the audience in size. Tina also mentioned that she was tired of the group in front waving their hands back and forth on the slower songs....

Simon repeated that American Idol should be a 'Talent Show', not a 'Popularity Contest' and stated that in his mind it was 50/50 at the start of last night's show... Michael is still going with talent not popularity.... i.e. as he thinks Amanda Overmyer is 'hot' looking but rated her only 7.5 on performance.

Tina's comments:  Is Randy reading our blog that he had to give a numerical score for Amanda's performance? When did he last do that?

Michael's comments: Michael disagreed with Simon multiple times during the night... unusual for him... is the new stage affecting what they hear there versus us at home??  Also, is Ryan reading our blog also... as he showed an older audience member last night with him, after my comment last week that he ignored the oldest call-in person with a question?!

What we normally do this early in the process is to vote for the highest one or two contestants per the score we gave them.

Michael voted for David Cook (9.5) and Michael Johns (9.0), while Tina voted for Syesha (9.5) and David Cook (9.5).  Again Chickezie (pictured above) was a high scorer!

Due to space limitations on the eBay Blog format that we first post in, we only have so much room to blog here...

For those that missed our previous blog posts on this TV Show.... Please see the following link for our previous blog post. We have been blogging about Season 7 since the first week when the auditions were shown:
