What's That? A Leprechaun???
Mood:  mischievious
Topic: Comic Book History

11-22-09: Just noticed that this archived blog post is seeing a lot of views. Please Note: the links to our eBay Blog posts No longer work, because eBay closed down ALL of the eBay blogs via their blogging platform on 10-31-09. The only blog version of OURS that is being updated now is this one you are viewing:  http://www.ComicBookCollectorsBlog.com

What's That?

Nah.... It's just 'My Favorite Martian' posing in his 'little green men from Mars' costume for the cover of his first comic book from Gold Key Comics!

However it does get us in the mood for this special day!

So What's Our Hottest Archived Blog Post So Far This Week??
Mood:  d'oh

So What's Our Hottest Archived Blog Post So Far This Week?

Yesterday It Was Laura Vandervoort

But Today...

It's Back To Jenny of The Rocketeer Movie Who Was Modeled After The Notorious Bettie Page!

I usually check our blog stats at least once a day to see what current blog posts or archived blog posts are being viewed...

An ongoing interest has been on our topics of Jenny in the Rocketeer, Bettie Page as a model for Jenny, The Notorious Bettie Page, Brinke Stevens ex-wife of Dave Stevens creator of the Rocketeer, and then last week's passing of Dave Stevens which tied all of the topics together...

Our Pop Culture - Comics - Comic Books and Movies Blog Post is averaging 858 visitors a day right now, with 11% of them viewing the following blog post about Bettie Page / Jenny:  CLICK HERE.

It is interesting to me to see the widespread interest in this topic as it does show that some topics do carry over into 'mainstream' viewings as well as small niche blogs such as ours!

We have an ongoing comic book convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale! Just click on the photo at the top right to see some of our current listings!

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

Birds Of A Feather Flock Together....
Mood:  caffeinated
Topic: Comic Book History

Which Is Probably Why All Of The Following Were Either Superheroes or Supervillains:

American Eagle, Black Canary, Black Talon, Blackhawk, Falcon, Firebird, Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Howard The Duck, Lady Blackhawk, Killraven, The Owl, the Penguin, Phantom Eagle, Phoenix, Thunderbird, The Vulture, yada yada yada...

So Many Birds...

But My Favorite Was

Lady Blackhawk...

Who Was Featured Many Times in Blackhawk Comics!

However She Was Even Better When She Was A 'Bad Girl' And Became Queen Killer Shark!

Zinda Blake was determined to become the first woman member of the Blackhawks.

She became an experienced pilot of many models of airplanes, and interacted withthe Blackhawks. However 'The Blackhawk Code' kept her from being a member....

However, after she saved the whole team from peril, she was told she could become an 'Honorary Member'.

Well... Lady Blackhawk became a captive of the Nazi operative Killer Shark, and using a chemical potion brainwashed her into becoming Queen Killer Shark! She joined Killer Shark several time in battling the Blackhawks while under the influence!

I would say it served the Blackhawks right being beaten by her for not letting her join their team as a regular member, but it wasn't right that Killer Shark brainwashed her into becoming a 'bad girl'...

Oh well... Comics weren't very PC in those days!  Come to think of it, they're not so PC today either!

You can still read several Blackhawk Comics listings by clicking on the top right comic book cover!

We have an ongoing comic book / pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for viewing this pop culture - comics - comic books blog post!

So a woman becomes a 'Lady Blackhawk', who is brainwashed into being a 'Queen Killer Shark', and then into.... sheeesh, you need a scorecard around here with all the changes!

Almost as bad as Ant-Man to Giant-Man to Goliath to YellowJacket to Ant-Man to plain ol' Hank Pym over at Marvel Comics!!

Click on the above comic book cover to see what other Blackhawk comics we have listed!
