Back In the Year 1948

The Comics Industry Was Floundering Around...

For The Next Big Thing!

World War II was over and the Superheroes that were born during that time didn't have anyone really to fight... so several comics shops with just superheroes were hurting for sales...

The comics publishers were looking for anything that could keep their doors open, so they were receptive to romance, westerns, cartoons, crime, and other genres!

They were even open to printing one-shots promotional comics for companies like the one at the top right for W.T. Grant Company!

What this comic was promoting for W.T. Grant may not be remembed today... but it is another use of a bunny rabbit on a comic book cover shown here in time for Easter Week 2008!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!
