Can't Wait For More of 24 With Jack Bauer??

All 24 TV Show Fans should know by now that we'll have to wait until January 2009 for the regular TV series to restart.

There is supposed to be a TV movie before that, but we'll wait and see...

In the meantime, IDW Publishing will be coming out with a 24 issue mini series comic book titled "24: Nightfall".

This will be a prequel to the hit TV Series Season One.

This will cover when Jack was the head of an elite Special Forces team that was sent to Yugoslavia to take down Victor Drazen in the war torn country!

The mini series is intended to show what led to the cool show on TV!

Of course our own current Comics listings can be seen by clicking the top right comic book cover, but we do keep running out of 24 issues as soon as they come in!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Steve Gerber Passes....

Steve Gerber Passes...

Steve Gerber, most widely known for his creation of 'Howard The Duck', passed away February 10th 2008 at the age of 60 from complications related to a chronic respiratory condition.

Steve started in comics as a fan, then was active in fanzines.

His work there brought him to the attention of Roy Thomas of 'Alter-Ego' fame.

Roy Thomas himself moved from fandom to Marvel Comics to become a writer for Stan Lee's office.

Reaching that point in the industry, Roy brought on Steve as a writer.

Steve wrote HoRRoR stories from 'Son Of Satan' to 'Tales of the Zombie', as well as superhero fare such as 'Omega the Unknown' and 'the Defenders'.

However it was his acclaimed 'Howard the Duck' series that shot him to 'superstar status' in the 1970's!

Leaving Marvel Comics after a disagreement of direction and ownership of the Duck, he went into the animation industry, and then came back to work for several independent comics publishers.

He most recently had worked for DC Comics with new 'Dr Fate 'stories for 'Countdown to Mystery'.

We have several of Steve's stories in our eBay Featured Store for those of you that either remember Steve's works or would like to know his work that will live on...
