So Who's HOT This Morning In Our Archived Blog Posts 04-25-08?

So Who's

'Hot'

In Our Archived Blog Posts This Morning?

None Other Than...

Laura Vandervoort

(Again?) !

The regular Readers of our Blog know that I check our Blog Stats daily!

This morning, (approx 6 a.m. PST) it is Laura Vandervoort's time once again to be 'Hot' because right now her archived blog post of 12-02-07 is reaching 16% of our blog viewership!

In that blog post I blogged that Laura had already appeared at a pop culture / comic book convention and would still be a 'HOT' personality that fans were looking for to have autographs from!

What amazes me is that the blog posts on Laura that I have published in our Blog continue to be in the Top 25 most viewed blog posts day in and day out!

I wonder if the producers of the 'Smallville' TV Show really know what a 'Hot' commodity she truly is??

The only other personality(ies) that give Laura any competition in our Blog are the Bettie Page / Jennifer Connelly Rocketeer connection archived blog posts that continue to be viewed on a daily basis!

For those new to us... we have ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and come back to visit us again!

Man.... Or.... Monster???

Man.... Or.... Monster?

No, I'm not blogging about the Incredible Hulk, who was in turn both a man... and a monster!

I'm blogging about Ben Grimm aka 'the Thing', from the Fantastic Four Comics who first hit the newstands back in 1961!

In a previous blog post I mentioned that I thought he was 'The Greatest American Hero', although that title was already taken by a superhero on a TV Show! ( Click Here for that Post)!

Anyway, right after 'The Galactus Trilogy' in issues #48-50 of the Fantastic Four by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby (which was the basis to the FF Movie 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer), was a stand-alone issue that separated that Trilogy from the two part introduction of the Black Panther!

That issue #51 is one of my favorite issues of the first 100 issues of the FF because it dealt with the man who by outward appearances looks like a monster!

The story was well written with characterization and smoothly drawn, almost like a motion picture!

Back in the 'old days' I used to give that issue away to friends to show them what comics could be like instead of the kiddee zap! bam! zowee! that comics were thought to be like in the mid 1960's!

This was true literature and had a moral to the story besides! Great Ending!

If you have never read this story from 1966... then you have missed one of the 'classics' that will stand the test of time!

The story can be found in several reprint formats Marvel currently has in print so you don't have to spend a lot to get a back copy of this issue!

For those of you new to us, we have an ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

He's The Greatest American Hero ??
Mood:  quizzical
Topic: TV Shows

So He's

'The Greatest American Hero'?

Well, personally I would choose 'Ben Grimm' aka 'The Thing' from the Fantastic Four, but it would appear that another party has already taken 'The Title' of the Greatest American Hero!

That would be Ralph Hinkley (played by William Katt) on the 1981-83 TV Show, 'The Greatest American Hero'!

This show also starred Robert Culp as an FBI Agent, and Connie Selleca as lawyer Pam Davidson.

Connie was the real reason I watched the show, as I liked her since seeing her on 'Flying High' TV Series from 1978-79!

Plus Robert Culp added some 'realism' to the show!

So, sorry Ben Grimm... looks like Ralph Hinkley beat you to the title of 'The Greatest American Hero'... which anyone can now see by viewing the DVDs of the 3 seasons!

Stan Lee.... Manga Writer ?
Mood:  quizzical

Stan Lee... Manga Writer?

So What's Stan lee up to now?

Well for one thing, Stan Lee is actually teaming up with VIZ Media to help debut the prologue chapter of Viz's ULTIMO (otherwise known as KARAKURIDÔJI ULTIMO)!

What's that you say?  Well, the 32 page prologue will debut in a special April 2008 issue of the Japanese manga magazine 'Jump SQ.'.

We don't mention manga here very much, so what 'Jump SQ.' actually is, it's the 'sibling publication' of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump!

Ok, so what's that? Well historically that has been the best selling manga magazine in Japan!

This special project that Stan is involved in, is a stand-alone issue called Jump SQ.II.

Quoting Stan now.. he says, "I am deeply honored for this great opportunity to collaborate with an award-winning artist/writer of the stature of Hiroyuki Takei. I enthusiastically expect that the combination of an American story-telling style merged with Takei-san's acclaimed Japanese style will result in our joint creation 'ULTIMO' presenting an original, exciting type of manga that will appeal to comic book fans around the world."

Stan was never one for short phrases!

So for you Stan Lee fans, take a look at this manga project and let us know what you think of it!

For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Strange Scramble !

Strange Scramble!

No, I'm not talking about a breakfast plate, even though in a lot of the world it's breakfast time as I post this blog!

Instead I'm talking about just one of the many scrambled word pages in one of Marvel Comic's titles that were aimed for kids at one time!

The comic book series was titled 'Fun And Games' and was a regular sized comic book even though it was a compilation of mazes, word scrambles, coloring pages, trivia tests, etc.!

Due to the fact that most of these 'interactive' comics were written in or cut out or even colored... the odds of finding a Near Mint (NM) copy today is actually harder than one would think!

We have several issues in varying condition grades listed for sale at this time, and wanted to bring this to our readers' attention as these have been an undervalued and overlooked comic book series but are being looked for today by collectors!

For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and come back again!
