Songs Theme For The Night Was:
 "Mariah Carey Songs"!

Last Night it was the 'Final 7' who performed on the New Stage in a 1 Hour show! There will be only 2 Nights of American Idol this week... with Tuesday Night the Performance Night, and then Results Night Show on Wednesday!

Here are our 'scores', (based on 1-10, 10 being highest), on each performance with the 4th column showing the difference between Michael's score and Tina's score. The 'contestants' are listed in order of performance during the night, NOT by numerical score:

7Jason / I Don't Want To Cry    8.0  0.58.5

Now for the comments from Tina and Michael!

Tina had a lot to say last night!

Tina says ' Mariah's is what's wrong with pop music today and American Idol.'  She adds 'She's responsible for the runs the idols do... in fact they are called 'Mariah Careyisms'...

Tina also commented that Brooke actually dressed up for once!

Tina had mentioned this before and I just looked at her, but last night I too noticed that 'Jason looks eerily like John Travolta with dreadlocks'!!

Tina says that Carly is 'in the most danger of going home and should be'...

Michael's comments: Michael didn't have much to say last night, as the performances were none too super... but then again he doesn't listen to Mariah Carey songs, he just knows her from her appearing on Dick Clark's Rockn' New Year's Eve show!  Oh, and that Randy Jackson is always talking about her...

What we normally do this far into the process is to vote for the highest one or two contestants per the score we gave them.
Michael voted for Kristy Lee Cook (8.25) and David Cook (8.25) who is pictured above, while Tina just voted for David Cook also (8.75), even though she thought he would have done better on that song...

Due to space limitations on the eBay Blog format that we first post in, we only have so much room to blog here...

Finally Saw A Speed Racer Film Commercial....

Last Night On TV!

In between seeing more commercials for the May 2nd 2008 release of the Iron Man Film, I finally saw a Speed Racer commercial!

Speed Racer's Movie is due out the following week on May 9th 2008 after Iron Man's debut, but you wouldn't know it by the lack of promos for it!

BTW, the teaser trailer commercial looked pretty good!

At the top right is just one of several Film Posters that have come out recently on this cool film starring Emile Hirsch as Speed Racer!

The film also stars Christina Ricci, Matthew Fox, John Goodman and more!

We have an ongoing comic and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Season Finale Tonight
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: TV Shows

It's The

Season Finale

 Tonight

For 'New Amsterdam' TV Show On The Fox Network!

Ever since the WGA Strike affected our viewing habits, I have been hesitant to blog about midseason TV Shows.

Indeed when this show first came out, I couldn't make up my mind to like or dislike the show...

However after several episodes have aired I am now ready to recommend viewing this show... just in time for Monday Night's Season Finale for this show!

What a TV Season this has been! LOL! However you can still view the full eight episodes on the Show's web site!

My hesitancy was because the show's similar to a few I've liked in the past, but it does pander to the current fixation on TV of showing dead bodies over and over... which Tina and I personally don't like to watch. We watch TV for escapism not for dead bodies...

However the background to show is a good one, and the producers have fleshed this show out over the abbreviated season.

What's It about???

The main character is John Amsterdam, (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), who saves the life of a Native American girl when Manhattan Island was 'New Amsterdam' and owned by Dutch.

The girl in turn gives him immortality through a spell in order to save his life...

Okay... well here is the twist to this show... John Amsterdam will not age until he finds his one true love! Oh yeah... at which point he will become mortal again and can die!

So the show is about a 400 year old man who has lived multiple occupations and had many families during that time. Sounds convoluted but it is fun watching the story unfold in today's world with flashbacks from his past!  And Nikolaj is similar to David Boreanz's style if you like him...

Other than the dead bodies, because he's currently a New York Homicide Detective, the show is pretty darn good!

Above are the main cast of the New Amsterdam TV Show which has only 8 episodes in its' initial run. (l-r) Stephen Henderson as Omar who is John's son, Zuleikha Robinson as Eva who is John's new partner, Nikolaj Coster Waldau as John, and Alexie Gilmore who is thought to be John's real love who would make him mortal!
