He Was An Undercover Agent!
Colt .45, starring Wayde Preston, was a TV Show Series that ran from 1957 to 1960 on ABC. Wayde Preston guest starred on one of the highest rated episodes of the popular TV Western Show 'Maverick' and thus gained the attention of the producer William T Orr. Wayde went on to star in the first season before having a falling out with the studio during the second season. He returned for the final episodes of the TV Show just before it was cancelled. Wayde played 'Christopher Colt', an undercover government agent, who had the secret identity of a traveling (Colt) pistols salesman. Thus the 'double entendre' of Colt in the series. My interest in this show is mainly because of the cool comic book photo covers that Dell Comics ran as a tie-in. For some reason this was a show I don't remember watching much... maybe it on too late on a school night?? LOL!
