X-Men III DVD

X-Men III

Last Stand DVD  Starring Kelsey Grammer!

This is Just One of the 220 DVD  Movie & TV Show Reviews that we have written!

NOW is the time for YOU to catch up on Comic Book TV Shows or Comic Book Movies, while the major networks are playing re-runs of this past season!

To help you figure out which ones to rent or buy, we are going to publish in our blog some of the over 300 reviews we have published to date in our 'Guides & Reviews' section on eBay!

One of the BIG reasons I chose this DVD Movie to publish here is because of the X-Men's Blue Furry Beast.... Who Was Played by Kelsey Grammer in the X-Men 3 Movie.. ..and I really enjoyed his portrayal of the Beast in that movie!

In that third movie of the X-Men Trilogy, Dr Henry 'Hank' McCoy is a former student of Professor Xavier's School who is now the Secretary of Mutant Affairs in the U.S. government.

This version of the Beast is covered in blue fur and has a genius level I.Q., with heightened strength and agility.  However when the Beast first appeared in X-Men #1 way back in 1963 he did not sport the blue furry look. That look came into being during the 1970's.

I grew up with the non-furry look and prefer that look in the comics.  However in my opinion the producers of the movie couldn't have done any better than in getting Kelsey Grammer to portray the blue furry Beast in the movie!

The Beast has also been a member of the Avengers, X-Factor,  and the Defenders, all Marvel Comics superhero teams, as well as the Uncanny X-Men through the years.

The Beast was a Great Addition to this third movie of the trilogy and didn't take away screen time from any of the other major characters!

Recommended Viewing either as a rental or your Film Library!

Kelsey Grammer As the Beast

The Flash TV Show On DVD

The Flash TV Show Is On DVD For Viewing!

The first one is on the Flash TV Show... which features Amanda Pays... Who Was More Than Just Eye Candy on Flash TV Show!

Amanda Pays was born on June 6, 1959, in London, England and started acting in the United Kingdom.

However, Amanda is best known in the States for her roles as Theora Jones in the movie and television series Max Headroom, and as Christina "Tina" McGee in The Flash TV Show based on the comic book series.

I first saw Amanda on the Flash TV show, where she wasn't used as 'eye candy', but in a more serious role. This was refreshing as most often women are treated other than that on these genre of tv shows or movies!

The Flash was shot as a live action CBS television series from 1990-1991 that starred John Wesley Shipp as the DC Comics superhero, The Flash. It co-starred Amanda Pays.

The series was created by the writing team of Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo while composer Danny Elfman wrote the series’ title theme.

Unfortunately the show only lasted one season, as it was expensive to shoot and the ratings were not as sucessful as the network wanted, due to changing the time slot after running up against the more sucessful shows Cosby Show and Cheers.

The series is now on DVD and is worth watching if you have not seen it before. It is definitely not 'campy', but also not overly 'grim and gritty' and fits a more 'mainstream' viewing public.

Ghost Rider DVD Is Coming This Week !
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Comic Book Movies

June 12th Is Ghost Rider DVD Release Day!

The DVD comes as an 'Extended Cut' DVD, where scenes deleted from the movie are added!  It is NOT a 'Director's Cut'. The director, Mark Steven Johnson, believes the released theatrical version is a better paced movie, but this one has additional background material added.

We reviewed this movie in an earlier blog post after it was released and are pleased to let you know that the DVD will be here THIS WEEK!

By the way, we currently have 218 DVDs reviewed, plus 15 VHS, 7 CDs, and 62 books in our eBay Reviews Section!

Almost all of them are pop culture flicks or books, except for the occasional 'chick flick' that Tina slips in our DVD stack!!

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and be sure to mark the date that you can buy your own copy of the Ghost Rider Movie!  Click on the picture to the right for Ghost Rider Comics we have available for sale!

Parade Magazine 6-01-07 Feature Article - Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie...

Featured On Front Cover  of Parade Magazine!

Angelina is on the front cover of Parade Magazine today, with the article title of:

Actress, activist and mother Angelina Jolie:

'How I Found My Way'

It is a good article on Angelina, with some background history, her recent marriage to Brad Pitt, the children they have, and her activism in world affairs.

Angelina was born in 1975, and was cast in a few movies before her Tomb Raider breakout film in 2001 !

She portrayed Lara Croft, who is a member of a rich British aristocratic family. She enjoys collecting ancient artifacts from ruins of temples, tombs, cities, and other places worldwide, and goes through death-defying dangers to obtain them. She is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, weapons training, and foreign languages  and does them all in tight outfits as per the video game.

Angelina's looks definitely helped fill the tight outfits role, and being the daughter of actor Jon Voight gave her a good background in acting.

The movie made Angelina an international movie star, thus during the summer of 2003 the sequel, Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, was released.

After seeing her at the SDCC movies program Tina and I acquired more respect for her as she came across very well to her audience of over 6,000 in speaking and answering questions from her fans. Before that program Tina didn't all that much of her. She came across a lot better than Halle Berry did in the same hall in the program before Angelina's.

Angelina later starred in 'Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow', with Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow which I really enjoyed also !

For those interested in action / adventure comic books similar to Tomb Raider, we have several listed in our eBay Featured Store !

Thanks for viewing this comic book blog post.... and feel free to comment!
