The Comic Reader Was a Magazine that was first started by two men who have gone on to make their names well known in the comic book industry! Paul Kupperberg was a former editor for DC Comics. He has also been a writer of comic books and newspaper strips. Paul Levitz is currently the President of DC Comics, (Batman / Superman / Wonder Woman etc.), and responsible for that comics line. Both Pauls ran the comics fanzine 'The Comic Reader' (1971-1973) and also the fanzine 'Etcetera' (1972-1973) before moving into the comic book industry itself, while the magazines kept going for a long run. The issue to the top right is an example of a later issue. The cover is by Sergio Aragones, of 'Groo' fame and also the fastest artist at the annual SDCC's 'Quick Draw' contest.
