EVERYONE Was Kung Fu Fighting ! Even........ James Bond!

That's Right !

Take A Look @ the Cover to the Right Where James Bond invades the martial arts world in one of his movies!

We currently have that issue and more in our eBay Featured Store!

The whole martial arts world exploded in America with Bruce Lee's faster than the camera action in 'The Green Hornet' TV Show.

Next thing you know, 'Kung Fu' is on TV without Bruce, but he came back with 'Enter the Dragon' and more films.

Never an industry NOT to copy, the comic book publishers started printing 'Karate Kid', 'Master of Kung-Fu', 'Iron Fist' and so forth....

The whole martial arts craze lasted a long time in print, and still has fans today in magazines.

There has even been a small revival of martial arts characters getting updated for the 2000's in the comics world since the movies are still coming out with martial arts themes.

Star Trek Fan Club Magazines

Star Trek Media

We just finished listing some more Star Trek Fan Club magazines along with our Star Trek Comics & Mags!

Star Trek has had several comic book series published through the years.

Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Malibu Comics, etc. have added greatly to the lore of the Star Trek Universe.

Of course there have been paperback and hardcover novels in printed form.

The Star Trek Club magazines are not that easy to find in SoCal where we are, probably because the TV Shows and the Films have several actors/actresses that are in demand for collectibles.

The issue to the top right is an example of that collectability.  Kim Cattrall starred in an early Star Trek Film, and went on to star in the TV series 'Sex and the City', thus making this magazine issue collectible for both Star Trek Fans & Sex and the City fans.

'Last Day In Vietnam'

A Graphic Novel by Will Eisner

Has Been Reviewed in the eBay Review Section, and Is Just One of the Graphic Novels or Comic Books on Wars that we have in our eBay Featured Store!

This Graphic Novel was written and drawn by the writer/artist that was there in the 'Nam, Will Eisner.

Will is the father of the graphic novel, and does a good job in telling several stories in this softcover edition of his graphic novel.

Unlike the Spirit stories that he is also known for, each of the  stories in this Graphic Novel is easy to read, and understand without any continuity. The well-defined graphics help illustrate the story even more and make you feel that you were actually there with the characters.

Definitely this was the format for Will to tell these stories of Vietnam.

Recommended reading for those wanting to read about this time in history.

Last Night We Sold The Last Two

Last Night

We Sold The Last Two CGC'd 3rd party graded

Boris Karloff Tales of Mystery Comic Books  That We Had In Stock, which reminded me that we still have  several Non-CGC Graded issues in Stock

...For those that don't know, Boris Karloff's comic was a licensed comic book series from Gold Key Comics.

The series ran for 97 issues from October 1962 to February 1980.

The first two issues were titled: Boris Karloff Thriller, which was the name of the TV Show that was running at the time, and then the title was changed with issue number three.

Thriller, the TV Show, was, along with The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents, one of the best anthology television series of the 1960s, running from 1960-1962 on NBC-TV.

The TV show featured host Boris Karloff, who introduced an entertaining mix of macabre horror tales and suspense thrillers. The TV Show was created by Hubbell Robinson for Revue Studios, (which was later purchased by Universal Studios), and produced by Fletcher Markle, William Frye, and Maxwell Shane.

The comic book for those that have not read one before, could be compared to Gold Key's Twilight Zone comic, or to DC Comics' The Unexpected. This series was a popular one for Gold Key, and lasted eighteen years after the demise of the TV Show!

For those interested in Boris Karloff's Tales of Mystery comic books, we have several unslabbed only comics listed in our eBay Featured Store !

Thank you for reading this pop culture / comic books blog post and feel free to post YOUR comment!
