Frost Is Here...

Emma Frost...

Friend AND Foe of the Uncanny X-men!

Emma Frost was first introduced to the X-Men Universe in Uncanny X-Men #129 published January of 1980.

She is a telepath and was originally one of the wealthy, mutant elites who composed the Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club.

She later joined Professor Xavier and became headmistress of the Xavier Institute.

She remains a mysterious entity in the mutuant universe!

The con fan who posed at the top left does portray Emma Frost  pretty well, and she does have the revealing white attire down to an 'X' !

Our Take On The Simpsons DVD

We rented The Simpsons Film DVD last night, and realized we hadn't blogged about it since it first came out.

The Movie itself in our humble opinion was just not that big of a deal on the Big Screen.  We expected more and didn't get it.

However the Spider-Pig song cracks Tina up!

The Credits show how few voice actors are needed to voice most of the cast of the TV Show... truly amazing!

Near the end of the credits is Maggie's First Word... "sequel"!

The DVD Bonus Features:

Deleted Scenes- The DMV scene with Marge's sisters was funny.

However there were not enuff deleted scenes... could there have not been that many???

Special Features -  The Jay Leno sub scene was OK. The American Idol scene with Simon was funny. The Lobby Treat was funny per Tina.

Trailers - The trailers were funnier than the movie. Tina says because the trailers were 'concentrated' with all the best scenes...

This DVD is worth watching at least once for a mainstream viewer, and for The Simpsons fanatics it would be worthwhile in their collection.

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

She's Elektra-fying!

As I have blogged about before... the best thing in the recent Daredevil Film IMHO was the appearance of Elektra!

Altho when I started reading the DD comics she wasn't in them, as she was retro'd in later... she was a welcome addition to the DD Film!

Sad to say that Elektra's own Film didn't go over so well, but IMHO it was pretty much jumbled together... only good thing about it was seeing Jennifer Garner again!

The fan to the top left does a good job representing Elektra at the Con!

We'll be sure to post more pics this upcoming convention season!

Have a Happy New Year!!

It's... WEREWOLF BY NIGHT !

WereWolf By Night was one of the HoRRoR / MoNSTer comics that Marvel Comics Started after the Comics Code Authority, (CCA),relaxed its rules on what could be printed in a comic book.

Marvel was already paying licensing fees for other properties, so it looked to characters in the Public Domain to publish in this HoRRoR MoNSTer genre.

Werewolf was one such character, and to copyright it, the 'By Night' was added.

'Werewolf By Night' ran for 43 issues from September 1972 to March of 1977.

One of the best draws this has for comic book collectors is that MIKE PLOOG drew the early issues of the comic!

From the 2007 San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), I found out why he left the comic.  Appears he was asked to other Marvel Characters into the comic book, one that he didn't want to draw. Thus he left this book!

With only 43 issues printed, this is a good series for HoRRoR / MoNSTer Comic Fans to collect!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and  HAPPY NEW YEAR!
