The Twilight Zone...

...was a series of FOUR Comic Book Sets as well as a TV show!

Last year we sold some of the Twilight Zone comics we had for sale to 'The Twilight Zone Archives' and after checking out their web site, wanted to recommend it to you for viewing!  It is at: Click Here

For others of you that are also interested in Twilight Zone Comics, there were two one-shot comics published by Dell Comics in their Four Color series, #1173 (May 1961) & #1288 (April 1962) .

Then the Gold Key Comics comic books series was published from 1962 to circa 1982 ending with issue #92.

A now defunct company, 'Now Comics', (no pun intended), published the second volume from November 1991 to March 1993.

As a lot of comic book companies did in the 1990's, Now Comics stopped publishing the second volume, and with a new #1 issue, started volume three in May 1993 which ended with #4 in August 1993. Supposedly comic companies could sell a lot of #1 issues, so several long running comic titles were 'rebooted' this way!

Compare this with the TV show, which ran from 1959 to 1964 in its' first series with 156 different episodes.

After Rod Serling sold his shares of the Twilight Zone back to the network that originally ran them, the TV Show had its' first revival from 1985 - 1989.

Then the Twilight Zone had a 2 hour TV Movie in 1994, which did not go on to become a TV Show series.

It wasn't until 2002 that UPN had a revival of the show with Forest Whitaker as the narrator. Unfortunately that revival only ran until 2003!

For those interested in Twilight Zone Comics and other HoRRoR / MoNSTer comics, we have several hundred comic books in our eBay Featured Store .

For those of you that can't make it to comic cons... We have an ongoing comic book convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and new listings of items for sale! Just click on the pic at the top left to see our listings!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and don't forget to check out the Twilight Zone Archives also!

American Idol Premiere...

 Season 7

 Night 2 Dallas

  Our Take!

The second night of the Premiere was set in Dallas, Texas... where last time American Idol found Kelly Clarkson, winner of Season 1!

Here are just a few notes from Wednesday night's auditions:

Jessica Brown was shown... ex drug user who has changed her life around, and is going to Hollywood!

Alaina Whitaker compared herself to Carrie Underwood, she recived 3 yes's from the Judges.

Bruce Dickson, never been kissed at 19 yrs old... 3 No's from the judges.

Kayla Hatfield, scarred in car crash, sang a Janis Joplin tune... I liked her. Simon Says yes, Paula No, Randy ... yes. Tina says Randy got snookered by Simon!

Katie '?' - Simon says she is the best singer so far this year...

End of Day 1 in Dallas, only 12 total got the Golden Ticket to Hollywood!

Day 2 in Dallas:

Tina says apparently the Producers believe that viewers 'really enjoy the train wrecks' as we are bombarded with terrible singers!

Kyle Ensley, studying politics in college, simon says yes, Randy says 'Glee Club Singer', Paula says yes... Tina says Simon snookered Paula this time!

Colton Swon, I like this guy! 3 yes's...

Drew Poppeleiter, a farmer, just OK for me...Simon No, Randy yes, Paula no, then Yes!

Kyle- the Rocker from Illinois, sings Kelly Clarkson song... that's NOT rocker!

The Birdman is saved for last. Renaldo La Puz, a total crackup! See the video to the left column to hear his song!

Total of 24 from Dallas going to Hollywood!

Next week is from San Diego, where Tina and I live!

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

NOT One Of The Top 5 Batman Movies!

Fight Batman Fight!

This past week I blogged abut the Top 5 Batman Movies. ( Click Here! )

I have also seen several bootleg toys, games and films during the years, but there are so many of them that no one could have seen them all!

We do not sell bootleg items, but are always interested in what other countries have published or produced in the way of items of our favorite cartoon or comic book characters.

The newspaper ad to the top left was advertising the Phillipino Film, 'Fight Batman Fight'.

The film was produced in the Phillipines in 1973. English is one of the three languages that is commonly spoken in that country.

This film is not available on DVD to my knowledge, nor have I viewed it.

However, with the robot, the villains, and the girls, it would probably be fun to watch once!

Sometimes, like the 'Kato and the Green Hornet' films from Hong Kong, the foreign films put an emphasis on a different aspect of the original thought processes!

For those of you that can't make it to comic cons... We have an ongoing comic book convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and new listings of items for sale! Just click on the pic at the top left to see our listings!

A Big Furry Blue Beast

Was Played by Kelsey Grammer in the X-Men 3 Movie....

..and I enjoyed his portrayal of the Beast in that movie.

In that third movie of the X-Men Trilogy, Dr Henry 'Hank' McCoy is a former student of Professor Xavier's School who is now the Secretary of Mutant Affairs in the U.S. government.

This version of the Beast is covered in blue fur and has a genius level I.Q., with heightened strength and agility.

However when the Beast first appeared in X-Men #1 way back in 1963 he did not sport the blue furry look. That came into being during the 1970's.

I grew up with the non-furry look and prefer that look in the comics.  However in my opinion the producers of the movie couldn't have done any better than in getting Kelsey Grammer to portray the blue furry Beast in the movie!

The Beast has also been a member of the Avengers, X-Factor,  and the Defenders, all Marvel Comics superhero teams, as well as the Uncanny X-Men through the years.

For those that are interested in more about the Beast and / or the Uncanny X-men, we have several listed in our eBay Featured Store !

For those of you that can't make it to comic cons... We have an ongoing comic book convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and new listings of items for sale! Just click on the pic at the top left to see our listings!
