Heath Ledger, Star Of The Next Batman Film Is Dead...

Just arrived back from shipping today's sales and exchanging out DVDs at our local video chain store.

Was asked at both places what I thought about Heath Ledger's passing.

I missed that news item earlier today, and didn't have a reply formulated, so listened to what the questioners thought of the news...

It would appear that Heath's last role, that of playing the Joker in the next Batman Film, 'The Dark Knight' was completed before his untimely passing.

Hopefully the producers will include a memoriam to Heath in the opening or closing credits of the film...

I won't comment on the incomplete details of his passing at this time. I am sure you can find more on that in the days to come.

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post !

And For Those That Missed Last Week.... Here Is 'Our Take' On:

American Idol Premiere Season 7

 Night 2 Dallas

The second night of the Premiere was set in Dallas, Texas... where last time American Idol found Kelly Clarkson, winner of Season 1!

Here are just a few notes from Wednesday night's auditions:

Jessica Brown was shown... ex drug user who has changed her life around, and is going to Hollywood!

Alaina Whitaker compared herself to Carrie Underwood, she recived 3 yes's from the Judges.

Bruce Dickson, never been kissed at 19 yrs old... 3 No's from the judges.

Kayla Hatfield, scarred in car crash, sang a Janis Joplin tune... I liked her. Simon Says yes, Paula No, Randy ... yes. Tina says Randy got snookered by Simon!

Katie '?' - Simon says she is the best singer so far this year...

End of Day 1 in Dallas, only 12 total got the Golden Ticket to Hollywood!

Day 2 in Dallas:

Tina says apparently the Producers believe that viewers 'really enjoy the train wrecks' as we are bombarded with terrible singers!

Kyle Ensley, studying politics in college, simon says yes, Randy says 'Glee Club Singer', Paula says yes... Tina says Simon snookered Paula this time!

Colton Swon, I like this guy! 3 yes's...

Drew Poppeleiter, a farmer, just OK for me...Simon No, Randy yes, Paula no, then Yes!

Kyle- the Rocker from Illinois, sings Kelly Clarkson song... that's NOT rocker!

The Birdman is saved for last. Renaldo La Puz, a total crackup! See the video to the left column to hear his song!

Total of 24 from Dallas going to Hollywood!

Next week is from San Diego, where Tina and I live!

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

As Our Blog Has Had THE MOST Visitors Ever, (904 So Far Today)  With The Vast Majority of Our Blog's Latest Viewers Looking For The Top 10 Movies of 2007...

...and instead are finding our January 14th, 2007 archived blog post where we posted the following entry:

Watching Ebert & Roeper's Top Ten Worst Movies of 2006 tonight, and found that Uma Thurman's 'My Super Ex-Girl Friend' was listed as number seven of the worst of 2006 by Michael Phillips, (filling in for Ebert).

I first reported on this movie in our blog post of December 20th, 2006.

You can check out my comments on the movie at that post by clicking this Review !

I find it strange that it is listed as one of the TOP TEN WORST MOVIES of 2006. I didn't find it to be that bad !!

(End of original entry.)

The archived blog entry from January 14th, 2007 has been our mosted visited archived post today 1-22-08 with anywhere from 51% to 74% of the latest 100 visitors in batches viewing just that one archived post!

To date I have not seen Ebert & Roeper's Top 10 Best or Worst List for 2007, even though I looked at their web site!

Hopefully the new viewers will find a blog post that will fill them in!

The 'Collector's Edition' Pamphlet

To The Left

Was One of The 2007 SDCC Comic Con Promo Items!

Seems like everybody was there this past year promoting new Movies, new TV Shows, new Toys, new Games, new everything!

I didn't see the 'Entertainment Weekly' booth there, but somehow Tina and I both received a few copies of this pamphlet that was distributed at the Con!

Being that I am a fan of Sci-Fi movies, (as you can tell by our DVD reviews on eBay), I wanted to know what EW thought was the best Sci-Fi Movies and TV from the past 25 years!

Well, they give away their #1 choice on the cover.... The Matrix from 1999.

Also on the cover are their #8 choice STNG from 1987-1994, and #18 Heroes TV Show 2006-current!

Their #2 choice had a lot of fans attending the SDCC, and I attended one of that show's programs. Their #22 choice was my favorite show for many years... I even blogged about it here a few time before. (Here's one post)

For those of you that are interested in EW's choices, we do have a few of these available in our eBay Featured Store. Just click the top right picture for listings!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post !
