Up All Night!

Cult & 'B' Films Plus Rhonda Shear!

Rhonda Shear is best known for her role as hostess of the USA Network's weekend movie show, 'USA Up All Night'!

It was from the years 1991 to 1998 that she hosted the show on Friday nights, while Gilbert Gottfried hosted the same show on Saturdays.

Rhonda replaced comedian Caroline Schlitt, the Friday night host for the show's first few years on TV. The show had started June 6th, 1986 and actually ended April 25, 1998.

For a while there, the show was also known as 'Up All Night With Rhonda Shear', so Rhonda had hit the bigtime!

Shear's tone of voice when pronouncing the title "USA Up!! All Night!!" made it a temporary household catch phrase!

The show aired films not usually seen on TV, that of cult films, 'B' Movies, and sexploitation movies with explicit scenes edited out.

In 1998 the USA Network revamped itself, and this show was one that was cancelled...

We sell Sci-Fi, HoRRoR, and MoNSTer Comics that have been on Film. Check Out our Listings By Clicking on Rhonda's Pic!

Logan's Run Was A Novel, Movie, TV Show AND A Comic Book Series!

The comic book series was published by Marvel Comics!

It ran from January 1977 to July 1977 with only 7 issues to collect today!

The comic book series was based on the 1967 novel that was made into the 1976 hit Theatrical Movie!

The Hit Movie was then transformed into a TV Show for the 1977-78 season lasting 14 episodes!

For Marvel comic book collectors, this series has the First Solo Story of Thanos in a back-up story in issue #6. Thanos featured prominently in later Marvel Universe comics.

Additionally there are two issues with two different cover prices, which are valued by collectors!

Or cartoons based on comic book concepts. I am including these due to fact that the 'comic book movie' genre is becoming a more mainstream 'cross-over' into other film genres.

The listings above includes films that have grossed over $200,000,000 at the world wide box offices during their theatrical runs.

All amounts posted are in USA dollars and only include theatrical box office receipts (movie ticket sales)!

I am sure this blog posting will prompt some comments... if you are reading this on our eBay Blog, just email us thru eBay's mail program.

Thoughts On the Upcoming Hulk Movie

 Updated With Video

Michael's Note:  I am reposting Tina's 'Take' on the upcoming movie with a video from the same program that Tina attended. This due to the fact that more and more bloggers are finding our previous posts on the upcoming 2008 Film!

-------------------------

Tina's Note: This is 'My Take' on the upcoming Hulk Movie previewed at the SDCC Comic Con Program on 07-28-07 Saturday From 04:15 pm to 05:00 pm in Hall 'H' At the San Diego Convention Center:

Marvel Productions talked with Comic Con fans about its second production, yet another Incredible Hulk movie.  This fan's reaction?  Why, oh why?

Nothing that lead actor and writer of the screenplay, Edward Norton, had to say made me feel any better about it!

In fact, it sounds like a disaster in the making.  Both Norton and the French Director Louis Leterriere loved the TV series starring Bill Bixby.  Much of their inspiration comes from the tv show.

The screenplay is based on the tv series, the Bruce Jones comic book series, and the grey Hulk.

Look for the character of Doc Sampson.  Perhaps he's the one who'll be "looking for a cure" for Banner (the focus of the movie).

Norton dodged questions about whether this outing would be the origin story.  Origins are hard to set up, blah, blah, blah, the origin will be "spooled out" thoroughout the story.  Huh?

Norton terms the emergence of Hulk as "when he pops out."  Huh?  With the special effects, the actor is apparently "still there" in the scene.  Where we're not sure.

The only visual we saw was a treatment of the Hulk looking eerily like Lou Ferrigno.

The gorgeous Liv Tyler seems clueless as Betty Ross.  Tim Roth plays The Abomination, and William Hurt is General Ross.

My prediction: strong cast, weak screenplay, a mess of a film.

American Idol Premiere...

 Season 7

 Night 2

  Our Take!

The second night of the Premiere was set in Dallas, Texas... where last time American Idol found Kelly Clarkson, winner of Season 1!

Here are just a few notes from Wednesday night's auditions:

Jessica Brown was shown... ex drug user who has changed her life around, and is going to Hollywood!

Alaina Whitaker compared herself to Carrie Underwood, she recived 3 yes's from the Judges.

Bruce Dickson, never been kissed at 19 yrs old... 3 No's from the judges.

Kayla Hatfield, scarred in car crash, sang a Janis Joplin tune... I liked her. Simon Says yes, Paula No, Randy ... yes. Tina says Randy got snookered by Simon!

Katie '?' - Simon says she is the best singer so far this year...

End of Day 1 in Dallas, only 12 total got the Golden Ticket to Hollywood!

Day 2 in Dallas:

Tina says apparently the Producers believe that viewers 'really enjoy the train wrecks' as we are bombarded with terrible singers!

Kyle Ensley, studying politics in college, simon says yes, Randy says 'Glee Club Singer', Paula says yes... Tina says Simon snookered Paula this time!

Colton Swon, I like this guy! 3 yes's...

Drew Poppeleiter, a farmer, just OK for me...Simon No, Randy yes, Paula no, then Yes!

Kyle- the Rocker from Illinois, sings Kelly Clarkson song... that's NOT rocker!

The Birdman is saved for last. Renaldo La Puz, a total crackup! See the video to the left column to hear his song!

Total of 24 from Dallas going to Hollywood!

Next week is from San Diego, where Tina and I live!
