The

 "REDEEMER'S LAW"

Project

A Serialized Novel Online To View!

Click Here to see our current listed Comics, Books, and Graphic Novels, some by Dan Jolley!  Dan Jolley, (as seen at left), currently has a serialized novel online...  What makes this different, is that it is a novel that he wrote twelve years ago that was never published, and is now being revised online!

I have blogged previously about a 'wovel', (web novel), that is being published online right now. That is 'Firstworld' by Jemiah Jefferson, where the readers can choose where that web novel takes the next path to before being published online.

Here, comic book writer and novelist Dan Jolley is revising his first novel, REDEEMER'S LAW, a sci-fi/horror/pulp/superhero story, and inviting everyone to take part.

New chapters appear at midnight every Sunday and Wednesday at www.redeemerslaw.com, along with Dan's thoughts and editing notes. The readers of this serialized novel are encouraged to post their own comments and critiques.

Dan is known for writing several comic books including but not limited to stories for G.I. Joe, Doctor Strange, Sabretooth, Purgatori, Micronauts, and more for several comics companies.

When he was twenty-five years of age, Dan wrote this novel. He had been writing professionally, off and on, for six years prior, but everything he had done before was in the field of comic books.  He says "After a comics deal went particularly sour, I decided to develop something all on my own – no editors, no co-writers, no artists".

Dan attempted to get the novel published, but it was not accepted. He shelved it, and went back to comics. So, by summer of 2008, Dan had already scripted about 150 comic books, co-written two novels, written three more solo, and done film novelizations for both Iron Man and Transformers 2! He was pretty busy during the time between his writing his first novel in 1995-96!

Now Dan is ready to get his first novel project back on track. You can check out his progress online by checking out www.redeemerslaw.com and commenting there on each installment if you'd like...

For those of you that are on Facebook, you can join the newly formed Facebook group 'The "REDEEMER'S LAW" Project' recently created by Dan Jolley at:

www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=68809516456

I want to thank Dan Jolley for bringing this to my attention. I have read several of his comics before and was entertained by them.  You may have read some of his other works, including his licensed-property novels that include Star Trek S.C.E. - Some Assembly Required, Angel (The TV Series): Vengeance, Iron Man (The Film) Teen Novelization (version). Or his children's books, Pigling: A Cinderella Story, The Smoking Mountain, Escape From Pyramid X, among others.

I'll be sure to follow up on Dan's progress on this novel and possibly blog again about this in the future. It is currently on Chapter 4 of the novel....

Dave Simons

Will Be At The New York Comic Con!

February 6th, 7th & 8th, 2009!

Click Here to see all of our newly listed items for sale including some by Dave Simons!  That's right!  Dave Simons... artist, says he will be at the New York Comic Con 2009 that is being held at the Jacob Javits Center for all three days, starting February 6th, 7th, and 8th!

You can look for him at Bob Shaw's table Booth #2402, (Comic Art House).  Dave will be signing and doing sketches there, plus Bob will have some of Dave's original art to sell.  Dave says "hope to see you all there!"... so be sure to stop by and say hi, commission a sketch and check out his artwork for sale!

Please Note: Dave's scheduled signing and sketching times are 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. daily during the three day show!

Dave is currently working on Army of Darkness #18, entitled "Montezuma's Revenge".

Dave has drawn many stories during the years.  Some of you may remember the great story featuring Simon Garth - the Zombie that Dave drew for the short-lived Bizarre Adventures that was published by Marvel... I do!

Others may remember one of Dave's earliest published comics stories that was printed in DC's Weird War Tales where he inked Ken Landgraf's pencils on a story featuring gorillas that were pressed into service by the Germans in WW II... now that was a strange story... you gotta check that one out!

Dave spent several years at Marvel Comics during the 1980's. He is credited on several issues of Ghost Rider, Howard the Duck Magazine, What If...?, Savage Sword of Conan, and more!

Dave is also credited with works published by DC Comics such as Forgotten Realms.

Since his early works in comics he's been mostly in the animation field.  Besides working on Army Of Darkness mentioned above, he's also recently created some Fantastic Four cards for Rittenhouse Archives, among other things....

Mark Texeira

Receives

 "Guest of Honor"

Nod From The New York Comic Con!

Con Runs February 6th Thru 8th, 2009!

Click Here to see all of our newly listed items for sale including some by Tex!  Congrats to Mark! And that is great news for Texeira fans that are able to make it to this Con!

It was only yesterday that I blogged that William Katt, (of The Greatest American Hero TV Show fame), was attending this same upcoming NYCC, and NOW here is ANOTHER good reason for this Con to be added on YOUR schedule!

Many of our blog readers already know Mark Texeira as a fine art painter and "sequential storyteller supreme".  But did you know that Mark is also a local New Yorker?  So Mark must be happy to be taking part in the Big Apple's supreme celebration of comics and being honored this way!

For those that don't know of Mark's many comics works... he is known for his artwork on the "Ghost Rider," "Moon Knight," "Black Panther," and many more!  Mark, who also is known as 'Tex', has a "knack of bringing the reality, mood and feel to any story he tackles".

Besides his comic book works, his fine art style has also graced numerous album covers, magazine covers, paperback books, movie tie-ins, and on gaming merchandise.

Those clients that published those works include companies such as Def Jam Records, Marvel Entertainment, Dynamite, Harris, DC... and others.   Besides Mark's brush bringing life to others' owned characters such as Vampirella, Conan, and Batman, he also has his creator-owned character Pscythe that has been published.

While you are at the Con, perhaps you can ask him or Renee Witterstaetter at their booth, about upcoming projects in the works. Those projects on Texeira include "Creator Chronicles: Mark Texeira" from Eva Ink and Woodcrest Productions, which is a comprehensive interview with Tex as well as a painting tutorial; AND "Tex: The Art of Mark Texeira--The Artist's Great Escape," a retrospective art book from Vanguard Production.  In addition, Eva Ink plans to publish a sketchbook of Texeira material later this year.

For those able to make this Con, Mark Texeira will be available in the Artist's Alley all days of the NYCC. There is also a signing at Manhattan's Illustration House also planned.  Additionally there is a  Vanguard Productions panel at the convention spotlighting Mark Texeira and also Michael Golden. Check your con program schedule for time and place!

For those that may be able to make this con, here are the details for the New York Comic Con:
