American Idol The Top Six 04-22-08 Our Take!

American Idol - Fox TV Show
Season 7

The Top 6 Show!
04-22-08 Our Take

Songs Theme For The Night Was:
 "Music Of Andrew Lloyd Webber"!

Last Night it was the 'Top 6' who performed on the New Stage in a 1 Hour show! Once again there will be only 2 Nights of American Idol this week... with Tuesday Night the Performance Night, and then Results Night Show on Wednesday!

Here are our 'scores', (based on 1-10, 10 being highest), on each performance with the 4th column showing the difference between Michael's score and Tina's score. The 'contestants' are listed in order of performance during the night, NOT by numerical score:
The 'Top 6'

(No #)

Name of Contestant / Song PerfomedMichael's TakeScore DifferenceTina's Take

1

Syesha Mercado / One Rock N Roll Too Many

   9.25 - Wow!   0.25

9.5 - Fantastic! Entertaining!

2

Jason Castro / Memory

7.0 - For Guts!   1.06.0 - Ruined the song for me!
3

Brooke White / You Must Love Me

   6.5 - Docked for false start.   1.07.5 - Wasn't great...
4

David Archuletta / Think Of Me

7.0 - Weak take on girl's song.   1.08.0 - Ending was very good, but song was boring...
5Carly Smithson / Superstar   9.5 - Hated the original version... but this was great!   1.08.5 - good performance.
6David Cook / Music Of The Night   9.0 - Good, but not the best performance of the night.   1.08.0 - His worst performance ever!

General Notes:

Ryan stated that today was 'Earth Day', so Idol is using 'Green Power' at The Finale!

The band section was brought down to the stage for the performances tonight... which is what Tina brought up weeks ago when the idols first moved to this new stage...

Randy Jackson said before the start of the performances that tonight would 'Probably will be the toughest night of the Season!'

Now for the comments from Tina and Michael!

Tina's comments:  Tina has had it with Brooke! Thought it was very interesting that Paula for a change actually came down on someone. Paula is the only real performer of the three judges.  Tina appreciated and agreed with Paula's comment on Brooke's stopping and re-starting her song...

Michael's comments:  Michael was wondering why two of the guys sang versions of 'girl's songs'... similar as to why Andrew Lloyd Webber was wondering why also...  A really 'mixed' night of performances, with Syesha showing her true strengths and where she could go if she doesn't win 'Idol'...

One last comment:  Our parakeet 'Clouds' usually enjoys the American Idol show. However Clouds was quiet until David Cook came on and during the whole performance was dancing and singing along with David C!  If Clouds could 'dial' a phone David C would have Clouds' vote!

What we normally do this far into the process is to vote for the highest one or two contestants per the score we gave them.

Michael voted for Syesha Mercado (9.25) pictured above, and Carly Smithson (9.5), while Tina voted twice for Syesha Mercado (9.5), who she thought did a Fantastic Entertaining Performance!
Michael thinks that Jason or Brooke should go based on their performances, and Tina thinks that Jason should go based on last night!

Due to space limitations on the eBay Blog format that we first post in, we only have so much room to blog here...

For those that missed our previous blog posts on this TV Show.... Please see the following link for our previous blog post. We have been blogging about Season 7 since the first week when the auditions were shown:

Slap Leather Pardner !
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Comic Book History

Slap Leather Pardner!

That means you owlhoot!

Just finished listing over a dozen Kid Colt comics on a 'fixed price' format on eBay's core listings!

Which reminded me that growing up in the late 1950's to early 1960's, westerns on TV and in comic books were part of my everyday life.

Of the Big Three Westerns that Marvel Comics printed, it was Kid Colt Outlaw that was my personal favorite!

Kid Colt's own comic book series ran from 1948 to April of 1979! So these newly listed comics are over 30 years old!

KEY Issues of his print run in comic books were:

Origin in Kid Colt #11 in 1950

First gunfight with Sam Hawk was in 'Gunsmoke Western' in 1960.

Kid Colt was killed by Gunhawk in Blaze of Glory #1-4 in 2000.

Today I find that westerns are seeing a resurgence, and with the Jonah Hex western comic book movie coming out soon, this genre should show even more collectability!

For those of you new to us, we have an ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Update On Beatles Comic Book!

Update On Beatles Comic Book!

Yesterday we had an email from an eBayer who had a comic book like the one to the right that they wanted to know the value of!

Since our 2,000+ archived blog posts are listed on search engines and blog directories, we are easy to find.  And we don't mind answering questions!

This eBayer had a copy of the Dell Beatles Comic Book with all the posters intact and wanted to know the 'value' of it.

Without seeing a scan of the actual item it is hard to know, but I pointed out to them the completed listings on eBay to see what the comic has recently sold for.

As a matter of fact, one copy was sold by a fellow dealer friend of ours close by in San Marcos, California for $77.64, while another copy was recently sold for $53.77!

So, this morning we received another email from that eBayer 'maddoxn' who has listed it on auction for three days with NO Reserve! The item listing number is: 140226676443, and is currently at the bid price of $1.00!

Please note: We are not affiliated with this eBayer, nor have we seen the actual comic book. Just that at a $1.00 opening bid plus a fair amount for a shipping charge, it is a good deal for a Beatles fan!

For those of you new to us, we have an ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and please visit our blog again!

Dell Comics are great collectibles because their photo covers are usually highly sought after by fans of the character(s) pictured on the front cover!

Please note: The above is NOT the copy of the Beatles Comic Book that is talked about in this blog post! There are seven photos on that listing to get a better idea of the grade of the comic book. Listing number is: 140226676443 for those of you interested in obtaining it. (There does appear to be writing at the top right of the front cover.)

So Who's

'Hot'

In Our Archived Blog Posts Tonight???

None Other Than...

Barb Wire

a.k.a. Pamela Anderson!

Regular Readers of our Blog know that I check our Blog Stats daily!

Tonight it is 'Barb Wire's Night to be 'Hot' because right now her archived blog post of 01-07-08 is reaching 6% of our blog viewership!

It has been quite a while since 'Barb Wire' has been 'HOT', altho several of our Pamela Anderson blog posts continue to be read on a regular basis.

I don't know of any major reason that the Barb Wire blog post is at the top of our views right now, as there hasn't been any Barb Wire news for a while, unless something came out of the NYCC 2008 comic con this past weekend??!

For those new to us... we have ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and come back to visit us again!
