We have been blogging so much about the upcoming Iron Man Film being released May 2nd 2008, that until recently we have been neglecting Speed Racer's Movie due out the following week on May 9th 2008!

There Will Be Several Guests of Honor At

 ECBACC

 2008!

ECBACC is an acronymn for East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention...

And Nell 'Fat Momma' Wilson from 'Stan Lee's Who Wants To Be A Superhero' is just one of the guests that will be there!

The Convention will be held May 16 - 17th in Philadelphia, PA!

It Is The

 Last Remaining Winery

In Los Angeles!

This past weekend we visited my Great-Uncle Howard in the LA area.

For an excursion, we went to the last remaining winery in LA, the San Antonio Winery which was started in 1917!

The only reason it remains is that on the eve of Prohibition, the owner of the winery went to the Bishop of the LA Diocese and struck a deal to make the sacramental wine for the dioces!

Hearing that story, my great-uncle, born in 1915, told us the story of how after shucking corn at at a carnival in Maitlin, Missouri, that his uncle Lewis McIntosh, who like to drink a little, asked the local Marshall where the best place to find a drink was in the area! Considering it was still Prohibition (1933), the Marshall definitely knew where the drinking activities were!

My Great-Great Uncle Lewis wasn't an alcoholic, but is known for his saying that 'the best time to drink is the morning'!

We're tying this blog post in with our 'Crime Comics' as the gangsters made a lot of money during the Prohibition Era!
