So Here Is:

'Our Take" On The Survivor TV Show 11-01-07 Episode!

Episode 7 (Whole #1507)

SPOILER WARNING - DO NOT READ THE BELOW IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE!

This episode started off very sloooow...

But it heated up as James found the second 'immunization' idol as he called it.

However James slipped up and dropped a look-a-like idol that Jaime picked up.

The BIG thing was.. Jaime thought it was the REAL idol, and later after losing the immunity challenge, she played it!

The two tribes merged and of course there was the public hugging and carrying on... but the two tribes were definitely distinct in trying to keep or gain the upper hand. They were 6 to 4  in number of each previous tribe.

Well, the ending was pretty darn good. Some at the Tribal Council even thought it was funny, as you could hear laughs when Jamie played her 'Immunity Idol'.

Till next time...

Kid Colt, Outlaw!

Kid Colt was the Longest Running Cowboy Star In American Comic Book Publishing !

Kid Colt's real name was Blaine Colt.  He was a cowboy fictional character who starred in his own comic book series as well as in several other titles for Timely, Atlas and Marvel Comics, all of which were owned by Publisher Martin Goodman.

Kid Colt was the longest-running cowboy star in American comic-book publishing,  being featured in stories for a 31 year run from 1948-1979. However from 1966 to the end of 1979, most of the published stories were only reprints of earlier stories. Additionally a  brief  hiatus occurred between issues #139 (April 1968) and #140 (Oct. 1969) to interrupt the run.

Pete Tumlinson wrote and drew Kid Colt's earliest stories for Timely Comics. Artist Jack Keller began his long run with the character starting with Kid Colt, Outlaw #25 (March 1953) for Atlas. Editor Stan Lee was the writer for those stories. Early cover artists for Kid Colt Outlaw included Joe Maneely, John Severin and Russ Heath.  Jack Kirby and inker Dick Ayers took over for many of the covers from the 1959-1965 time period.

Kid Colt and his horse Steel first appeared in Kid Colt #1 (August 1948), from what then called Timely Comics. The cover logo was originally subtitled "Hero of the West", but by issue  number three this logo was changed to "Kid Colt, Outlaw".

Kid Colt's origin story, as told in Kid Colt, Outlaw  #11 (Sept. 1950), had Blaine Colt being wrongly accused of murder and becoming a fugitive from the law.

Kid Colt appeared in numerous comic book series through the 1950's, including All Western Winners, Two-Gun Western and Gunsmoke Western.

During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Kid Colt appeared in the reprint title Mighty Marvel Western along with the Two-Gun Kid and the Rawhide Kid. Kid Colt additionally was published in the three-issue Giant-Size Kid Colt reprint series. His long running title series ended with #229 (April 1979).

Kid Colt, Outlaw was my favorite of the Marvel Western Comics during the 1960's.  During that time there were no comic book stores to buy back issues from, thus I was never able to complete my Kid Colt, Outlaw run at that time. From this event I learned not to attempt to collect series that were long running, which is why I mainly collected Marvel Superheroes as most of the superhero titles, other than Tales of Suspense, Tales to Astonish and Strange Tales, had started in 1961 or later. (i.e. Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Avengers, etc.) Thus I only two or three years at most to complete at that time! Not like the forty-five years of continuity kids have today!

As a footnote, the miniseries 'Blaze of Glory' from the year 2000, by writer John Ostrander and artist Leonardo Manco, featured Kid Colt in his final adventure. This grim and gritty miniseries killed off Kid Colt in the series' conclusion with issue #4, March 2000.

For those interested in more western comic books besides Kid Colt Outlaw, we have several hundred in our eBay Featured Store. Time to slap leather Pardner!

Monte Hale, born 1919 in Texas, was a country singer and 'B' Westerns Movie Actor. This 'case' held a costume, one sheets, his guitar and more memborabilia! This is just one of many western movies costumes on display at the Autry Center!

Monte Hale Memorabilia

Is On Exhibit At the

Autry Center In Los Angeles

Monte Hale, besides being a country singer, was the star of a few 'Monte Hale' cowboy comics with cover photos from his Western Movies! When Monte retired from the movies, he went on the Western Convention Circuit!

The 'case' these items are displayed in is not part of the special Gene Autry exhibition at the Autry National Center that is being shown
between now and January 13, 2008.

The 'case' is in a top floor gallery of the Museum that has a few 'cases' of TV Westerns and Movie memorabilia on regular display.

This is normally the only gallery room that the 'myth' of the Old West is shown at the museum along with the 'reality' featured in the other galleries!

For those visiting the Los Angeles metro area up to January 13th, 2008 this would be one of the better attractions in that area for Western fans.

The Centennial Exhibition on Gene Autry will be running thru that date, with certain days closed for the holidays of course.

Tina, my uncle and I just saw this exhibition on Saturday November 3rd for the first time, and recommend the Gene Autry Exhibition at the Autry National Center for Old West fans.

You can learn more about the hours and the admission prices at the web site autrynationalcenter.org.

Personally, my interest in the museum is in the 'myth' of the Old West. So I made sure we saw this gallery on this trip!

As you can tell by the comics we have in the eBay Featured Store, I am a Wild Wild West TV Westerns and Western Comics Fan.

'Last Day In Vietnam'

A Graphic Novel by Will Eisner

This Graphic Novel was written and drawn by the writer/artist that was there in the 'Nam, Will Eisner.

Will is the father of the graphic novel, and does a good job in telling several stories in this softcover edition of his graphic novel.

Unlike the Spirit stories that he is also known for, each of the  stories in this Graphic Novel is easy to read and understand without any continuity baggage.

The well-defined graphics help illustrate the story even more and make you feel that you were actually there with the characters.

Definitely this was the format for Will to tell these stories of Vietnam.

Recommended reading for those wanting to read about this time in history.

Just click on the Graphic Novel cover on the top right to see what war comics & graphic novels issues we currently have in stock!

Wyatt Earp and the OK Corral

Topic: Comic Book History

Click here to see our Western Comics for sale!

Wyatt Earp, his brothers, and Doc Holiday are shown above in the replay of the 'Gunfight At the OK Corral'. The scene is in a room and overhead lights go on and off as each figure takes turns talking.

Wyatt Earp has been featured in several different comic books from several publishers as 'Wyatt Earp' is in the public domain!

Gunfight At the OK Corral Scene

Is On Exhibit At the

Autry Center In Los Angeles

The re-enactment of the Gunfight is downplayed here at the Autry Center.  Going with their theme of 'reality' versus 'myth' their re-enactment is much less exciting than the one Tina and I saw at the 'real' OK Corral in Tombstone Arizona!

Of course having real live actors does add to the shoot-em up atmosphere!

The room that this scene is in is not part of the special Gene Autry exhibition at the Autry National Center that is being shown
between now and January 13, 2008.

This room is in on the bottom floor gallery of the Museum that is part of the 'reality' of the Old West.

The museum prides itself on showing the 'reality' of the Old West, whereas my interest is of the 'myth' as shown on TV Shows and Western Movies!

For those visiting the Los Angeles metro area up to January 13th, 2008 this would be one of the better attractions in that area for Western fans.
