For Jennifer Walters

 aka The She-Hulk!

But... Where's Her Comic Book Movie???

Seems she should get one before some of these other ones in developement!

Especially after what Tina and I saw of the upcoming 'Hulk' Movie at the SDCC program in July!

Click Here to see Tina's 'Take' on that preview program!

OK, we know that in the late 1980s, Marvel Comics approached Brigitte Nielsen to pose for photographs dressed as the comic book character She-Hulk.

Brigitte had previously impressed the company with her prior portrayal of their character Red Sonja and accordingly they hoped she would prove just as successful in a new movie venture.

Unfortunately the photos that were produced did not enlicit a large amount of investors in the potential film and Marvel was forced to scrap the project.

The top left photo shows She-Hulk on the way to court.

The second photo to the left is  Brigitte Nielsen as She-Hulk. She definitely was a good choice for protraying She-Hulk at that time!

Since I first blogged about this previous non-movie, there has been some interest in producing a movie with the She-Hulk. We will keep you blogged on details as they come up!

She-Hulk is currently being published in a on-going title.

I personally enjoyed the second comics series, which had John Byrne write and pencil the first eight issues of the series where She-Hulk would break the 'fourth wall' and talk to readers of the comics, knowing that she was in a comic book with her adventures being told.  Kind of a strange humour book, but when reading the comic it makes more sense.

John Byrne was later invited back, and with issue #31 brought back the reason I bought the series in the beginning!

That wraps it up for this blog post... But I wanna see She-Hulk in a movie, not her less 'incredible' Hulk cousin's next movie!

Billy Joel's Songs

'Covered'
On 'The Next Great American Band'
TV Show on the Fox Network!
11-09-07 Episode

For those of you that missed the 11-09-07 show... The episode went from a 2 hour show to just 1 hour.
Thus each band called to perform did a cover of a song by Billy Joel. There were no original songs by the bands tonight as per previous performances.

This blog post is similar to our format on 'Our Take' Of American Idol Performance Shows that we do when AI is in season.

The following is 'Our Take' on the Night's Performances in Numerical Grading. Tina and I have our top two bands colored in blue font:

For those that missed our previous blog post on this TV Show:   HERE IS THE LINK For The 11-02-07 Episode!

Due to space limitations because of eight bands performing, the following are just a few notes from this nite:

I still enjoyed the way the Top 8 Bands were presented out of the Top 10 Bands. Each band was called up one by one to perform, leaving three bands at the last.
Only one of the last three was called to perform.... leaving the two bands that didn't make the cut not performing for the night.
The three remaining bands were: Rocket, the Muggs and Light of Doom.
The two bands not called on to perform were:
The Muggs:  Which I had given a 5.0 (out of possible 10.0) and Tina had given a 4.5 so no surprise there...
and  Rocket: Which we were totally surprised us, as Rocket was both our #1 choices for performances last week!  I had given them a 9.25 and Tina had given a 8.0.
However, as Dominic Bowden, (the host of the show), said... both of the losing bands,  Bands #8 (the Muggs) and #9 (Rocket) had dissed the judges opinions at the end of the judges opinions.  Lack of maturity on their parts I thought.  However Tina pointed out last night,  since when did Rock n' Roll ever respect authority to begin with ?!
Funny thing is, that The Muggs once again dissed the judges with a thumbs down of their own after they weren't called up to perform... so it was fitting they didn't move on to the next round.
However Tina is totally dismayed that Light of Doom is going on to the next round... as she totally disliked their choice of song, performance, and in general everything about them!
For those that are wondering, Tina and I are evaluating by the singing/instrumentals of both songs, their looks, and the
general perfromance, NOT  who are 'favorites' are at this point.  Similar to 'Our Take on American Idol', where we don't come down to 'favorites' until the end.
Next week:  The TWO Bands with the lowest vote counts won't play next week.... So No 'Results Show' like American Idol. Next week the performances are about.....??? Didn't catch that part, so if you heard or know, just post below...

Glad something is finally on Friday Nights for us! What's your thoughts on this show? Just post your comments below!

For those that are wondering what the 'tie-in' is for us... we have Rock Comic Books and Magazines for sale in our eBay Featured Store!

Click here to see the FANTASTIC FOUR listings!

Above is one of the reasons why the Original Avengers were dismantled! With their own comic books, and guest appearances, they were hard to keep track of!  For current listings of Marvel's FIRST Family Superhero Team, just click on the cover!

Why Did The Avengers Form?

The first volume ran from September of 1963 to September 1996 with 402 issues!

The first issues featured Ant-Man/Giant-Man & the Wasp, The Mighty Thor, Incredible Hulk, and Iron Man!

This was the type of superhero team that Publisher Martin Goodman wanted when he directed Stan Lee to create a superhero team to compete against National (DC) Comics' Justice League of America!

Only One Problem then... there weren't any Marvel Super-heroes around in 1961!

Captain America, the Human Torch and Sub-Mariner had been revived briefly in the mid 1950's but didn't last!

That is why the Fantastic Four were born! Stan and Jack had to create a brand new team!

But Stan Lee had a problem by issue #16!  Almost all of the super-heroes in the Avengers had their own comic book also, and the continuity was hard to keep track of!

So with issue #16, pictured to the top left, Captain America took over as team leader and new 'Avengers' were brought in. That was the START of seemingly hundreds of super-heroes to be Avengers in the upcoming years!! LOL!

To see what issues we have in stock, just click on the comic book cover to the top left!

Catherine Bach Of Dukes Of Hazard Will Be Autographing In December!

Recently I have been seeing more and more autographed photos, comics, books etc...

Additionally I have seen comments about the prices charged by sellers on those items.

So I thought I would publish the autograph prices of an upcoming appearance by a
Star of a previous TV Show that is in re-runs and has had an 'updated' movie about it recently.

Catherine Bach of Dukes of Hazard TV Show fame will be autographing next month.

Her prices are listed at the bottom of the flyer shown at the top left.

Of interest to non-convention goers should be the fact that it would cost the convention goer $20 just to have their picture taken with the actress with their own camera, and NO autograph.

Also of interest... NO 'Shorts' Will be Signed! (?)

The times of getting autographs for free have been over for quite a while, as these actresses and actors are finding the convention circuits a way of making money as not all get residuals.

No negativity here, just to let our blog readers and possible autograph seekers the fact that most of the autographs signed today cost the con-goer $$ to get in the first place!

John Wayne

Exhibit At the

Autry Center

The Duke has a 'case' of items from his western movie days. Besides one sheet posters, there is also a few of the costumes he wore. See above top left for photo.

I have blogged previously about the special Gene Autry exhibition at the Autry National Center that is being shown
between now and January 13, 2008.

For those visiting the Los Angeles metro area during that time this would be one of the better attractions in that area for Western fans.

The Centennial Exhibition on Gene Autry will be running thru that date, with certain days closed for the holidays of course.

Tina, my uncle and I just saw this exhibition on Saturday November 3rd for the first time, and recommend the Gene Autry Exhibition at the Autry National Center for Old West fans.

You can learn more about the hours and the admission prices at the web site autrynationalcenter.org.

Additionally there is one gallery in the Museum that has a few 'cases' of Western and Movie memorabilia.

This is the only gallery room that the 'myth' of the Old West is shown at the museum along with the 'reality'!

Personally, my interest in the museum is in the 'myth' of the Old West. So I made sure we saw this gallery on this trip!

As you can tell by the comics we have in the eBay Featured Store, I am a Wild Wild West TV Westerns and Western Comics Fan.
