Virtual Visitors Have Chosen From To View!

We hit the 27,000th mark of visitors with approx 90,000 page views at 03:50 AM PDT yesterday, November 12th, with a view of our  May 16th 2007 blog post on the 'Lost' Episode titled 'Greatest Hits'.

For those that are new to us, here is a little Background on our Blog:

This Blog started June 7th 2006 shortly after eBay announced the new blogging format.

July 15th 2006 we added on a stats counter as we found most viewers read but didn't comment and we wanted to know if we were being 'read'!

We also started expanding our pop culture topics as we found that more and more bloggers finding us enjoyed several of the TV Shows that we also enjoyed. Thus 'Our Take' on episodes on TV Shows that we watch was born!

We continue to blog about TV Shows and are concerned that the WGA Strike will affect our blogging about the shows! We will continue to do so until either all the new episodes are aired... or we lose interest in that particular show!

We want to thank ALL of you for stopping in and visiting our Blog today. If there are topics we don't discuss but could fit our pop culture - comic books related theme, feel free to add them below!

Hopefully the WGA Strike won't last 'forever', and we'll be able to bring you more of 'Our Takes' on new TV Show episodes as well as comic book related posts!

To view our recent blog posts, just click on the 'squares' in the left column to view those topics!

Regarding our archived blog posts: Please be aware that eBay techs have revised the blogging format, thus our archived posts may be distorted to read... sorry about that but it is out of our control here!

John Carter Was Spelunking on Earth...

...and Then Ended Up On Mars!

That was the premise of a comic book series from Gold Key Comics and later from Marvel Comics and was a feature in a DC Comic Title!

The Gold Key series ran for 3 issues from April 1964 to October 1964.

The Marvel series ran for 28 issues from June 1977 to October 1979.

The DC series ran in Weird Worlds for a while.

All the  series were based on the (ERB) Edgar Rice Burroughs' character, John Carter, Warlord of Mars.

John Carter was an Earthman who upon negotiating a cave, (spelunking),  encountered a strange light. When the light touched him, he seemed to split into two, one part staying on Earth and the other part teleporting to the planet Mars.

Believe it or not, this was ERB's first hero, pre-dating his work on Tarzan of the Apes, and his son Korak.

There were earlier versions of John Carter, the first being in 1939's The Funnies #30.  DC Comics had a version in between Gold Key and Marvel, in the comic book series 'Weird Worlds' in 1972! However he only headlined his own title in the Gold Key and Marvel Comics series.

For those interested in the different versions of the John Carter Comics run we have several unslabbed  comics listed in our eBay Featured Store.

'Our Take'

 On The 11-12-07 Episode

Chuck vs The Truth

Spoiler Warning: Don't Read Below If YOU Don't Want To know What Happened!

Tina and I were both pleased to see a familar face on this show last night!

Kevin Weisman, who played 'Marshall Flinkman' on the the TV Show 'Alias' with Jennifer Garner, was the 'bad guy' for this episode.

However it was the New 'Love Triangle' that was the most important development in this series!

Kevin plays a bad guy who 'poisons' his victims with truth serum to get them to talk... and they die shortly afterwards.

Ellie, (Chuck's sister) interacts with a victim of the bad guy, and is also poisoned to see what she knows of the missing 'codes'.

The episode mainly revolves around that plotline, but a love triangle is started here that will go into the next episode at least.

A female customer walks into the 'Buy More' store where Chuck, Morgan, and John Casey 'work' at, and both she and Chuck have an 'instant moment' where they 'connect'.

When 'Lou', (actress Rachel Bilson), the female customer comes back the next day, she is very disappointed that Chuck introduces Sarah as his 'girlfriend'.

As a plot 'device' both Sarah and Chuck are exposed to the truth serum and Chuck asks Sarah before the antidote is given, if there is going to be any chance that he and Sarah will go further in their 'relationship'.

Sarah says no, and Chuck of course believes her.

Thus the next day, Chuck tells Sarah that he wants a public 'breakup' so that he can be free to see others.

The show ends with Chuck meeting Lou at her sandwich cafe in the mall, and Sarah wistfully seeing the two of them laugh and get to know each other better as she prepares him a 'Chuck Bartowski' sandwich.

You see, (as Tina figured out quickly), Sarah had been trained to withstand truth serum affects, and lied to Chuck about not wanting to take their realtionship further!

Hoo boy! The scenes for next week's episode look like more fun and games!
