So Who's

'Hot'

 In Our Archived Blog Posts

Tonight?

None Other Than...

Jim Steranko's Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D

A James Bond Style Of Comic  Book Stories!

Regular Readers of our Blog know that I check our Blog Stats daily!

Tonight it is our archived blog post on the Jim Steranko / Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. / James Bond type of strip blog post to be 'Hot', because right now this archived blog post of 09-12-07 is reaching 8% of our blog viewership!

Now it could be that bloggers are looking for news of the next 'James Bond' Film... or it could be that David Hasselhoff is in the news again, (he played Nick Fury in the TV Film), or could it be that Jim Steranko has a new project out....?

Whatever the reason this blog post is suddenly  'Hot'  tonight!

And here I would think the most viewed blog post  for bloggers would be the ones about the Iron Man Film that start tomorrow in theaters... LOL!

For those new to us... we have ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Yep... He's A Super-Hero Too!

Recently I blogged about Stan Lee trying his hand at 'manga writing', ( click here for that blog post)!

As a photo to go along with the post, I ran a pic of Stan holding his 'action figure', (no not a doll), at the SDCC.

For those that collect action figures or those that just want to have a MIB (Mint In Box) figure of Stan (The Man) Lee, the above right is the package that the action figure comes in!

From The Golden Age Of Comics...

From The Golden Age Of Comics...

Comes The Destroyer!

The NYCC, (New York Comic con), 2008 was held last month, and there are some new comics projects that were announced at the special programs.

One that grabbed my interest is from Marvel Entertainment, but is being published in their 'Max Comics' Line. It will be a new 'MAX mini-series', which means a finite number of issues are planned for the series.

(Which also usually means that the story arc would be collected later in a trade paperback.)

The project is titled  "Destroyer" and is part of "Marvel's" attempt to revive their Golden Age lineup  of heroes which has also included "The Twelve" and "Agents of Atlas".

The Destroyer is based on an Golden Age of Comics character from Stan Lee!  See  one of the issues of  'Mystic Comics' that the Destroyer starred in at the top right of this blog post.

Having been created during the War Years, naturally the Destroyer was a "World War II Nazi-punching Super-Soldier"!

The Destroyer mini-series will be brought back for a present-day return by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker.

Just wanted to point this out to our blog readers, as sometime these characters that are brought back can be good reading... but then again, I remember some of the recent retcons that aren't so good either!

The Destroyer was a 'headliner' in a few issues of the 'Mystic Comics' during the WWII years as evidence by the above comic book cover!

American Idol Results Show 04-30-08 Our Take!

Our Take On
The American Idol
Results Show
'The Final 5'
04-30-08

Wednesday Night was once again the 'Results Show' where the results of "America's" votes were broadast, with the ending result of one contestant being sent home...
The below were the contestants declared to be in the 'bottom two' of the Final 5 by "America", with their scores ranked by Tina and Michael from the night of their latest performance:

The 'Bottom 2 Of The Final 5'

(No #)

Name of ContestantMichael's TakeScore DifferenceTina's Take
1Syesha Mercado   7.5   0.58.0
2

Brooke White

   8.0   0.08.0

General show news first:
Over 45 million votes came in after the performances were broadcast, which was up 7 million votes from the week before!
The 'mentor' of this week performed a song from his upcoming 26th album to be released in May 2008....
Ryan Seacrest stated that although the previous night's show might not have been the 'strangest' one yet (IHHO), it definitely was the quickest. We would have to agree to that last part, as it was a very 'choppy' show for us!
Ryan also pointed out before the results were started, that the rumours 'about Paula' were not true. "She is part of our family! " OK, that didn't exactly answer which one of all the different rumours that were out there about Paula he was addressing... However in a previous blog post I mentioned that Simon said on the Larry King show a few weeks ago that all 3 judges were signed for 2 more seasons...
Next week's "theme" is 'Rock n' Roll Hall Of Fame Songs'.
Secondly: The following are our own thoughts while watching the process, and the results being announced:
Tina was perturbed that Jason was 'safe' for this week. She expressed it a little out of character for her, in 'Who the h... is voting for him?! So immediately after that it was... "well then it must be Syesha going home..."
Tina is also through with David A... as she just doesn't care for him now as his style is not one she likes and has actually grown to dislike it...
Tina is still surprised that Jason didn't go home before Brooke, but Tina also said in fairness that Brooke should have gone home weeks ago when she flubbed her lyrics...
Michael was a little surprised that both 'girls' were in the bottom two, but then again, it's been forecast that the final two will be 'boys' this season...
Michael caught that Simon had said Syesha would be in trouble after her performance, but had figured that it would be Jason and Brooke in the bottom two this week... not withstanding Jason's fan base.
Michael also thought that the best scene of the night was the Q & A segment where Simon was asked if he recalled his 1st kiss by a caller from his childhood!  Now that was worth watching the show for! The rest of the results show performances were pretty lame IHHO!
BTW,  as stated in last week's results blog post, we are in North San Diego County area, so we have seen several local Fox TV News segments on Carly Smithson, who was 'sent home' last week.  She actually made back to San Diego yesterday, so there were several news segments during the day and evening on that homecoming!
For those that will miss Brooke White, you might want to check out her record album from 2006 titled 'Brooke White - Songs From The Attic' as pictured at the above right!  We don't sell it, haven't heard it played, but wanted to bring album that to the attention of our blog readers!
We are Down To The Final Four next week!  Our personal picks at this time are in order:  David C, Syesha, David A and Jason... but since this is a 'popularity contest' and not a 'talent contest', it will probably be David A, David C, Jason and Syesha ending up in that order...!
For those that missed our previous blog posts on this TV Show.... Please see the following link for our most previous blog post. We have been blogging about Season 7 since the first week:
