View-Master Favorites! Of Course For Me They Would Be Cartoons & Comic Book Stars! Back in the 'Good Old Days' we didn't have the enjoyment of seeing our Cartoons and Comic Book Favorites on The Big Screen! And for maybe a Season or two, my favorites would be on the Small Screen but we would at the mercy of our parents viewing habits with only one TV in the house, LOL! So to pacify us kids, my folks bought us a View-Master and every now and then we'd get a View-Master Package like the one to top right! That was back in the late 1950's / early 1960's when most of the packages would be either scene shots like vacation pics, or TV Shows or Cartoons. That was a fun time, but I thought that the 'technology' of today had far surpassed that View-Master experience, so I was surprised to see so many View-Master listings on eBay right now with packages that my brother and I used to own! I can see Tina now... "oh no, not another collection in the house!" LOL! For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale! Please come back again!Michael |

"We Have To Move The Island" Mystery Tales #40 From Atlas Comics In The 1956 Was Used As A Major Prop On The Lost TV Show!
In an earlier blog post, ( CLICK HERE), I first blogged about the use of the Atlas Comics comic book as a major prop in the 05-08-08 Lost TV Show episode that was aired. There wasn't enough space to fully describe how important this issue was to the Lost TV Show plotline... Did YOU catch that John Locke's ending line in the episode was 'We have to move the island !' ?? Take a closer look at the comic book cover that is shown below the scene from the Lost TV Show episode... 'We have to move the island'... interesting parallel isn't it? Also, have you figured out why John is the chosen one to save the Island? Could it be that the test young John was given is similar to the one given given to the next Dalai Lama is given after the current one dies?! For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale! Michael |
Above is the scene from the Lost TV Show episode where the Atlas Comics comic book is shown along with the knife that the young John Locke chose instead of the comic book! That's a better view of the issue of Mystery Tales from Atlas Comics that this blog post is about. Without the hand and the knife obscuring the comic book cover, you get a better idea of how an island could be moved! For other comic books like Mystery tales #40, just click the comic book cover above!

Props On Latest Episode Included... Mystery Tales #40 From Atlas Comics In The 1950's! Tina and I taped Thursday night's episode of the Lost TV Show and then watched it last night. I'm glad we did because while viewing, Tina and I both saw the old Atlas Comics Book used in an important scene! We rewound the tape to where Richard, (who appears to never age), came to see Locke. It was a flashback sequence where John Locke (as a young boy) is told to choose between 6 objects: A book called "Book Of Laws", a compass, a catcher's mitt, a knife, a vial of sand and a copy of Mystery Tales (Atlas Comics comic book)! So the comic book fan I am, I just had to look for which issues of Mystery Tales it was! It appears that a LOT of Lost TV Show Fans had already done the same! You won't believe how many discussion threads there are right now on websites about this issue and wanting to buy it! So, I'm blogging about this comic book by posting a pic of the comic book to the top right. Also adding a photo of Steve Ditko below that, because it was this very issue of Mystery Tales #40 that Steve Ditko had his first artwork for Atlas Comics published! Atlas was the pre-cursor to what we know as Marvel Comics today! A little more about this comic book and we'll leave you to find a copy to figure out its' role in the Lost TV Show Series! The Comic's Cover Date was April 1956. Now if those titles don't fit in with 'Lost' TV Series what would?? J-25 A Warning Voice! 4pg with art by Carrabotta. J-219 The Travelers 2pg text story only. J-40 Crossroads of Destiny! 4pg with art by Jim Mooney H-978 Sammy's Secret! 3pg art by Werner Roth. H-986 The Silent Stranger 4pg with art by Winiarski and H-983 March Has 32 Days with 4pg of art by Steve Ditko. Due to the limited amount of text/html/photo space on this blog format, that will be it for this blog post. Come back in the days to come for more of this topic!
