Who Will Be Your Next
We know his name will be David… I know who I WANT to win. But, like the Oscars, Super Bowls, and political elections, sometimes who you want isn’t the same as who you think will win. I WANT David Cook to win, but I’m a little afraid to dream that the next American Idol would actually be someone whose CD I’d buy! I LOVE David Cook – his style, arrangements – and hey – he’s got a great voice. He’s been the most original, and the most consistent, performer all season. He’s had the biggest “Idol” moments. (Remember: “Hello,” “Billie Jean,” and “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.” Unfortunately, I THINK David Archuleta just might be the winner. He fits much better into the American Idol pop cookie-cutter. And he’s got the lock on the core American Idol fan base. I guess I have to face it, David Cook isn’t what we’re hearing on the radio today. It’s pop, not creative rock. I’m holding out some hope though. I did another unofficial beauty parlor survey after last week’s elimination, and could only locate ONE David Archuleta fan. In fact, she was the only Archuleta fan I’ve encountered all season! Here’s hoping Idol is COOK-ed! Let us know who you think it will be, and who you want. Tina
