Whom To Portray Thor In His Upcoming Film?
Mood:  quizzical
Topic: Comic Book Movies

Whom To Portray

" Thor "

In His Upcoming Film?

Why Not Josh Holloway?!

Marvel Entertainment has updated its feature film slate strategy and plans for the next three years, locking in key release windows for its character franchises!

So as blogged about yesterday... the launch of the 'Thor' Film won't be until in the summer of 2010 because Marvel believes that the summer is the optimal time to launch a new property!

So Marvel Entertainment plans to launch its 2010 film slate with the release of the sequel, 'Iron Man 2', on April 30, 2010, followed by the launch of 'Thor' on June 4, 2010.

So, I still haven't heard who is to play Thor in the film.

Scanning through blog posts and other sources, I saw that someone else had thought of Josh Holloway to be a good choice to play Thor.

I know that Tina would agree, as she like his acting on the TV Show 'Lost', and when you look at him, facially he does resemble the Thor personification that Marvel has used in the earlier years!

So why not Josh Holloway as Thor?

I do realize that his years on 'Lost' have been seen by quite a few viewers, so the thought of being seen by millions of movie goers wouldn't seem so exciting to him, but to play a Superhero... Well that would be something that not many have done so far!

We Want To Thank THE 135,000th Visitor To Our Blog!

We Want To Thank

The

 135,000th

Visitor...

To Our

Pop Culture And Comics Blog!

Just had a quick lunch with Tina who was breezing in and out of the home office due to a new promotion she is doing this week!

So I just noticed that our small niche pop culture and comics blog reached the 135,000 th visitor a few minutes ago.

(That would be 135,000 visitors, NOT page views. There have been over 251,250 page views of our 2,500+ archived blog posts per our stats counter. The eBay counter at the top left area says over 395,266 views, but that number is not verifiable.)

The visitor was from Rio de Janiero Brasil and viewed our "The Mighty Norse God Thor  In A TV Movie..." archived blog post of January 31st of 2007!

That is why we don't delete our archived blog posts! Most of them remain timely... as bloggers are now looking for info on the upcoming Thor Film scheduled for 2010!

We want to thank that blogger as well as ALL of the others who have come to view our blog posts since we started keeping stats on July 15, 2006! We actually started the Blog on June 7th 2006, when we came back home and blogged about viewing the X-Men III Film and deciding to list some X-Men comics!

Having bloggers like the 135,000th AND YOU come in and view our blog posts make our day!  Thanks again!

For those of you new to us, we have an ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Iron Man Film Opens At $100+ Million Dollars Domestic Gross Sales!

Iron Man Film

 Opens At $100+ Million Dollars

 Domestic Gross Sales!

W00-Hoo!

Well... we've been telling our Blog Readers that the Iron Man Film was going to be BIG... AND Worth Waiting For AND Watching!

Well, the totals for the Opening Weekend in the USA have come out, and the Iron Man Film reached $104.2 Million Dollars since its premier late on Thursday Night in some areas!

Add that total to the rest of the World totals, and this flick has reached $201 Million Dollars in ticket sales!

Not bad for a supposed 'second tier' comic book hero from Marvel Comics!

Actually according to the latest stats,  'Iron Man' was the 10th biggest opening of all time and the fourth biggest for a superhero movie!

Among nonsequels, it came in behind only the first 'Spider-Man', which premiered with $114.8 million!

I had promised our blog readers earlier that I would publish a photo of Tina wearing her Iron Man t-shirt that was distributed at the Special Iron Man Program at the SDCC 2007 (San Diego Comic Con International)!

I ran that photo, actually 2 photos, showing the front and back of the t-shirt.

I'm re-running the photo with the front of the shirt at the top right... and a pic of one of the Iron Man Film Posters below that for those of you that haven't seen that yet!

If you haven't seen our reviews of the film yet, check them out here:

Tired Of Waiting In Line For The 'Upcoming' Thor Movie?

Tired Of Waiting In Line

 For The 'Upcoming' Thor Movie?

Well You'll Have To Wait Until 2010! Sorry!

Marvel Entertainment has updated its' slate of their inhouse produced upcoming feature films for the next three years!

Thus they are locking in their 'key' release windows for their next tier of character franchises.

In their press releases they stated the above in order to focus their attention on maximizing the success of an Iron Man Film sequel and the long awaited launch of their Thor Film in the summer of 2010!

Additionally, because Marvel Entertainment believes that the Summertime period is the optimal time to launch a new property to the mainstream public, the Company will not release a self produced film in 2009, which is probably smart since they have to borrow against their credit line to do so....

So as of now, Marvel plans to launch its 2010 film slate first with the release of the sequel, 'Iron Man 2', on April 30th, 2010, followed shortly by the launch of 'Thor' on June 4th, 2010.

Now that is only for Marvel's inhouse productions, not ones that they have licensed to others, which includes the Wolverine Film!

And for those that either saw the same press releases, or saw the Special Scene at the end of the Iron Man 1 Film... Marvel is planning its feature film stakes for the Summer of 2011 with an Avengers-themed Summer Blockbuster!

There will be a two-picture project which will debut on May 6th, 2011 with 'The First Avenger: Captain America' (working title), which is then followed by 'The Avengers' in July 2011.

So for all of you Marvel Comics Movie Fans, the above has to pique your interest a little!

Let's hope that the Superhero Film genre doesn't turn into too much of a fad, as other films such as Hancock, etc are coming out before the above Marvel Films!

Samuel L Jackson Is STILL The HOTTEST Topic In Our Archived Blog Posts!
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Comic Book Movies

So Who's

'Hot'

 In Our Archived Blog Posts

Right Now?

Samuel L Jackson As Nick Fury

Is STILL The HOTTEST Topic In Our Archived Blog Posts!

And Has Been Since Friday May 2nd!

Regular Readers of our Blog know that I check our Blog Stats at least daily!

Since Friday daytime May 2nd 2008 until right now 9:54 AM Monday May 5th, our archived blog posts on Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. have been the 'HOTTEST' Topic In Our Archived Blog Posts!

That's because right now these archived blog posts are reaching 42% of our latest 100 blog viewers!

BTW, That is now at the highest peak since Friday when it was 'only' 36% of our blog readership that were looking for any blogs about Jackson as Nick Fury on Saturday morning!

Those Nick Fury posts were suddenly  'Hot'   because of the Iron Man Film that was released on Friday May 2nd 2008!

Why?

Because after ALL the credits are over, Nick Fury (featuring SAMUEL L JACKSON) is in a cameo role in a special scene with Tony Stark!

And what he tells Stark is what Marvel Comic Book Movie Fans have been waiting for... for months!

The topic is no longer a 'spoiler' IMHO, because some persons have already posted the special scene on You Tube from camera phones... so I am blogging about it so you don't miss the great news!

For those new to us... we have ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!
