Tired Of Waiting In Line For The 'Upcoming' Thor Movie?
Well You'll Have To Wait Until 2010! Sorry!
Marvel Entertainment has updated its' slate of their inhouse produced upcoming feature films for the next three years! Thus they are locking in their 'key' release windows for their next tier of character franchises. In their press releases they stated the above in order to focus their attention on maximizing the success of an Iron Man Film sequel and the long awaited launch of their Thor Film in the summer of 2010! Additionally, because Marvel Entertainment believes that the Summertime period is the optimal time to launch a new property to the mainstream public, the Company will not release a self produced film in 2009, which is probably smart since they have to borrow against their credit line to do so.... So as of now, Marvel plans to launch its 2010 film slate first with the release of the sequel, 'Iron Man 2', on April 30th, 2010, followed shortly by the launch of 'Thor' on June 4th, 2010. Now that is only for Marvel's inhouse productions, not ones that they have licensed to others, which includes the Wolverine Film! And for those that either saw the same press releases, or saw the Special Scene at the end of the Iron Man 1 Film... Marvel is planning its feature film stakes for the Summer of 2011 with an Avengers-themed Summer Blockbuster! There will be a two-picture project which will debut on May 6th, 2011 with 'The First Avenger: Captain America' (working title), which is then followed by 'The Avengers' in July 2011. So for all of you Marvel Comics Movie Fans, the above has to pique your interest a little! Let's hope that the Superhero Film genre doesn't turn into too much of a fad, as other films such as Hancock, etc are coming out before the above Marvel Films!
