We Want To Thank

The

 150,000th

Visitor...

To Our Pop Culture And Comics Blog!

We just finished having a late dinner, and was getting ready to close down for the night, when I saw that our small niche pop culture and comics blog reached the 150,000 th visitor while we were eating!

(That would be 150,000 visitors, NOT page views. There have been over 272,000 page views of our 2,500+ archived blog posts per our stats counter. The eBay counter at the top left area says over 436,000 views, but that number is not verifiable.)

The visitor came in at 6:58 PM PST and viewed the "She Made It To The SDCC  For Autographs!" blog post that was from August 2nd, 2007! That post was about Elvira who was not promoting a film or show, and was still there autographing!

We want to thank that blogger as well as ALL of the others who have come to view our blog posts since we started keeping stats on July 15, 2006!

We actually started the Blog on June 7th 2006, when we came back home and blogged about viewing the X-Men III Film and deciding to list some X-Men comics!

Having bloggers like the 150,000th AND NOW YOU come in and view our blog posts always makes our day or evening!  Thanks again for visiting us!

For those of you new to us, we have an ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

We appreciate your reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and please visit our blog again!

I Want To Believe.... Upcoming X-Files Movie Trailer!
Mood:  quizzical

I Want To Believe....

 Upcoming

X-Files

Film Trailer!

The very first teaser trailer for The X-Files: I Want to Believe Film  finally arrived this past week!

I have kept mum on this upcoming film for the most part, as very little has come out as to what the film is about... who stars, the storyline, and if we should even care it's coming!

After the X-Files had its' Series Finale several years ago... I found myself missing the show for several years...

Then, its' fondness in my viewing habits subsided as other new shows made impact with Tina and I at the SDCCs where those new TV Shows were previewed, (Lost, Invasion, Heroes, Jericho, etc.)

Yet the buzz for this upcoming movie will be picking up now, what with this trailer that was released about 6 days ago...

Yet it really doesn't reveal much either, and will the viewer be teased enough to shell out the big bucks to see it at the theater instead of waiting for the DVD?

So far the only video I've seen have been at IGN,  with just that release being placed on YouTube so far...

The X-Files trailer makes me miss the old X-Files TV Show, but not enough is shown to get me to put its' release date on my calendar yet....

We have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and come back to visit us again!

Why

The eBay Millionaire?

As previously blogged here, Tina and I have posted some 'reviews' in the eBay Reviews and Guides Section off and on for several months.

So this week I've been reading or re-reading books on blogging and eBay itself, as both Tina and I expand the scope of our operations on this, my 10th Anniversary on the Web!

The book 'The eBay Millionaire' was of course one that I wanted to check out again...

Here is my Review that was just posted in the eBay Reviews Section:

Why The eBay Millionaire?

Good question for those that see the cover and wonder what deep dark secret is inside the book. Or if enlightenment will strike you once you have read it this book cover from cover!

Well, there appears to be no one Secret to become a Titanium PowerSeller (TPS)!

Indeed, where one TPS tells you that starting auctions at 99 cents is the way they go and why, another TPS says they would never start an auction at 99 cents, because that is where their listing would probably end up at!

That's because each of the sample TPS talked about in this book are or were basically at one time an uniuque seller!  What worked for eac of these TPS worked for them after trying a few different business models and finding the right one for them.

There is no one secret, or even multiple secrets as to why each of the sample eBayers in this book became a TPS. But behind it all was a lot of hard work as several started from either their garage, basement, or home office!

I find it interesting that several are no longer TPS on eBay today. There are several mentions of changes that had occured while on their way to TPS status, and that most were working on their own web site in addition to their eBay Store.  With the ongoing eBay changes so far this year in 2008, it would be wise to follow their example in this.

This book is copyrighted 2005, and is starting to show its' age, but the individual stories by each of the TPS is timeless. Definitely a book to check out at your libary at least, if not picking up a discounted on eBay itself!

We have an ongoing Comic Con  and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale! Just click on the cover at the top right to see our current listings!

Hasbro Reacquires Their Cartoons....
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Comic Book Movies

Hasbro Reacquires Their Cartoons........

Hasbro, who are this nation's #2 toymaker, announced yesterday that they have reacquired the worldwide distribution rights to over 1,000 hours of animated programming!

Hasbro stated that under the terms of its' new agreement with Sunbow Productions, that they have regained 'ownership' of one thousand hours of cartoons.

Those cartoons feature G.I. Joe, Transformers, My Little Pony and the Littlest Pet Shop which are still well known, although the properties are a a few decades old.

With extrapolation of what's going on in the movie industry, you can see that Hasbro is figuring that with the tremendous success of the live action Transformers movie, that cartoon characters are 'Hot' and they should have more of a financial reward.

Similar to Marvel Comics' situation, where they basically gave away the rights just to have a successfull film, and then a track record, (X-Men, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four), and now they are producing their own films, (Iron Man and Hulk), to reap the financial rewards instead of just a 'rights' payment.

With a second Transformers Film in the pipeline, and a G.I. Joe live action film that is in production, Hasbro is showing that it clearly wants full control over its cartoon properties in order to reap the financial rewards.

The only thing is, are they coming too late to the market?

With films like 'Hancock' and other 'superhero' fare, will one or some of these companies get hurt when the whole genre is oversaturated?

Only time will tell!
