So Who's

'Hot'

 In Our Archived Blog Posts

Right Now?

None Other Than...

Samuel L Jackson As

Nick Fury Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D!

Regular Readers of our Blog know that I check our Blog Stats daily!

Last night, this morning and right NOW tonight it is our archived blog posts on the Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. blog posts' turn to be 'Hot', because right now these archived blog posts are reaching 23% of our current blog viewership! BTW, This morning it was at a high of 36% of our blog readership looking for this!

Those Nick Fury posts were suddenly  'Hot'   because of the Iron Man Film that was released on Friday!

Why?

Because after the credits are over, Nick Fury (featuring SAMUEL L JACKSON) is in a cameo role in a special scene with Tony Stark!

And what he tells Stark is what Marvel Fans have been waiting for!

It is no longer a 'spoiler' because someone has already posted the special scene on You Tube from a hidden camera... so I am blogging it now!

For those new to us... we have ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and come back to visit us again!

So You've Seen The Movie... And Now You Want To Sell Or Buy...

Comic Books!

Everytime a blockbuster comic book film like Iron Man hits the Big Screen, it seems to motivate people into either buying comic books of the superhero or thinking of digging through their closets to sell them on eBay!

In an earlier blog post I blogged about about the proper way to store your comics after you've bought them, so if and when you want to sell... then they'll be ready to do so!

Here is an excerpt from that archived blog post for you that are now motivated to do so:

In an earlier post I noted that you need to bag and board your comic books or magazines, (click here for earlier post), to store them properly.

Then I posted what kind of backing boards to choose from depending on what you going to do with the comics or mags, keep them, get ready to sell them, etc... (click here for that post).

Thirdly I posted about what kind and size of comic book or magazine bags to use, (click here for post).

This post will be what kind of boxes will best fit your comics or mags!  Comic Book Boxes are boxes that are actually manufactured to store comic boxes!

Most of the boxes that are manufactured for comic books storage are usually made very strong, and come with sturdy well-fitting lids and handle holes that can be left in the closed position for storing or pushed open for carrying.

Comic Book Boxes are properly sized to hold a comic in a bag with a backing board.  There are comic book boxes made for Modern Age and Silver Age Comics, and I find that Magazine Boxes are best for storing Golden Age Comics.

Short Boxes versus Long Boxes.... Trust me on this one! I have set up at comic book conventions using both sizes.  If you have access to a handcart, long boxes are fine. If you have to wait to use a handcart, then short boxes are better for carrying out to your vehichle.  If storing your comics only and not handling them other than inserting new ones, then I would go with the short boxes.  Less weight, (less comics also), and you are less likely to get a hernia lifting boxes up and down!

There are also comic book divider cards, (used for categorizing or separating titles), that fit in comic book boxes with the lid on. These are very helpful when attempting to find the comics you have already stored to insert more issues you have just bought!

Comic book boxes are normally sold or shipped flat which takes up less storage room. The boxes will fold together when you are ready to use them without using glue or tape and are easily assembled.

The main reason for storing your comics in a properly sized box is that the box helps protect your comics from corners and edges damage.

Also, placing your comics in a comic box also protects the comic from being exposed to ultra-violet light. Would you believe that ultra-violet light causes inks to fade?!!

Comic Book boxes are made from either Corrugated Plastic or Corrugated Cardboard. They come in several different lengths for your various storage/display needs.  I have used both, and find that cardboard are fine for storage and less money for our current purposes, which is storing comics in short boxes to pick and pull for comic book sales orders.

However, using corrugated plastic comic boxes could be an excellent choice for long-term comic storage for the collector because the material is normally acid-free, mostly water proof, probably vermin resistant and definitely strong to place more boxes on top.

A note about acid-free boxes. Comic storage boxes do not need to be acid-free IF you have your comics in bags already!

This post is the END of our Blog Posts on how to bag, board, and store your comic book (and magazine) collectibles.  If you have any questions, feel free to post your question below, or if comments option is off, email us by clicking on any of our eBay listings! .

Iron Man Film Goers - STAY Till The END !! (Spoiler Warning!)

(Possible spoiler Warning! DON'T SCROLL below the blog post title where THE BLUE STARS Start IF you don't want to know!)

Iron Man Film Goers

STAY Till The Very

END!

Which is AFTER The Credits!

******************

(STOP Here If You Don't Want To Know!)

Last night we attended the May 2nd 2008 Iron Man Film Opening Day Screening!

We did not want to post any 'spoilers' about the film when we did our review blog posts.

So we didn't, other than saying that you needed to stay until AFTER THE CREDITS are through running!

We saw three quarters of our screening audience leave before the credits were through and they missed what will be happening in the Marvel Comic Books Movies Universe!

I have also seen multiple blog posts saying the scene wasn't in the movie they went to!

Ya Gotta Stay Folks to AFTER THE CREDITS to see this scene and then you'll see how it ties in!

We've already received a few emails asking what it is about, but our lips are sealed because it is only the 2nd day in the States that the film has been showing! We also note that it is the 'HOTTEST' archived blog post topic we have right now being viewed!

However you can take a look at the bottom pic to the right to get a big hint...

For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Cows Riding Horses? It Was True!

Cows Riding Horses?

It Was True!

A fellow eBay Blogger posted a blog post titled 'Cows Riding A Horse?' on May 1st.

The blog post title caught my eye, as I thought it might be on a cartoon TV Show of which we have sold several VHS tapes of that are actually hard to find, and in demand!

The cartoon was 'C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa', where it was cow cartoon characters who rode horses in the Wild West!

No kidding!  And they had two mini-series of comics in 1992 and 1993 of 3 issues each from Archie Comics!

Well... on this other eBayer's blog post her cows were 'Mary Moo Moos' figurines! Ooops!

Oh well, I tried buying from her!

Iron Man Movie - Our Take - Part 2 - A Woman's POV!

Our Take On The Iron Man Film

Part 2

Tina's Take!

(Note: We are reviewing the screening of this film separately - From a woman's POV and a comic book geek's POV. We will attempt from posting any spoilers!)

Last night Michael and Tina attended the May 2nd 2008 Iron Man Film Screening! Here are Tina's Thoughts:

"Two Thumbs Up - Both of mine" says Tina!

I love a good origin movie (think Spider-Man 1 and Batman Begins, as opposed to The Incredible Hulk.)

And, this is a good origin movie.  The character development was involving and entertaining.

Robert Downey Jr is spot-on as the snarky playboy.  It's a dream cast of Academy Award winner and nominees.

The story is well played.  We walked away feeling that we saw a movie - an action movie - not a "comic book" movie.

For me, the casting of Terrence Howard seemed a little off - who knew Rhodey was a metrosexual - but Howard does a fine job.

Favorite scene: when Iron Man fires up in the red and gold for the first time - it's exhilarating.

Favorite movie moment: Stan Lee's cameo - watch for him on the red carpet at Stark Industries' charity event.

Best line: the last line of the movie. (I won't ruin it for you.)

One final note: The picture is rated PG-13. I would strongly caution parents to leave the young ones home.  While much of the violence is off-screen.  You know people are being killed; you don't see them dying.  However, there are two rather disturbing torture scenes - definitely not suitable for young ones.

Overall, I enjoyed it! Tell us what you think if you have seen it!
