Credit Given To Don Heck In The Iron Man Film !

Credit Given To

 Don Heck

 In The Iron Man Film!

Friday night Tina and I attended the May 2nd 2008 Iron Man Film Screening which we have blogged about with a review or two!

While we were waiting for the special scene after the credits were over, I pointed out to Tina that the four men that were responsible for the first issue of Tales of Suspense that Iron Man was introduced in were shown with a credit!

They were Stan Lee, Larry Lieber (Stan's brother), Jack Kirby and Don Heck!

I grew up in the Silver Age of Comics... where Dashin' Don Heck (as Stan called him), was a major artist on several of the Marvel comics features.

Unfortunately, Don just never achieved the fame that others in the Marvel Bullpen did, and after a long career in comics, he passed away on February 23rd 1995, years before most of the Marvel Superheroes he worked on saw their way to the Big Screen.

Don Heck penciled and inked many stories, or just pencilled or inked for Atlas, Marvel, DC, Harvey and other comics companies starting in 1949!

He was one of the co-founders of the Marvel Universe, although we just don't hear much about him! Matter of fact, just try to find a photo of him... almost as hard as finding one of Steve Ditko, another early Marvel Universe co-creator!

For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and come back again!

Don Heck had a lot to do back in 1963 when he worked on the first story in Tales of Suspense #39 where Iron Man was first introduced. I was glad to see his name mentioned in the Iron Man Film credits that opened on May 2nd 2008!

Although Jack Kirby drew the cover, Don Heck drew most of the interior pages over layouts by Kirby. Don also is credited with the intro of Pepper Potts in the comic book who was also translated to the Big Screen!

So Who's HOT Right Now In Our Archived Blog Posts? 05-04-08

So Who's

'Hot'

 In Our Archived Blog Posts

Right Now?

None Other Than...

Samuel L Jackson As

Nick Fury Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D

STILL !

Regular Readers of our Blog know that I check our Blog Stats at least daily!

Friday day, Friday night, Saturday morning and night and even RIGHT NOW it is STILL our archived blog posts on the Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. blog posts' turn to be 'Hot'!

That's because right now these archived blog posts are reaching 34% of our current blog viewership! BTW, That is almost at the highest peak of 36% of our blog readership looking for this on Saturday morning!

Those Nick Fury posts were suddenly  'Hot'   because of the Iron Man Film that was released on Friday May 2nd 2008!

Why?

Because after ALL the credits are over, Nick Fury (featuring SAMUEL L JACKSON) is in a cameo role in a special scene with Tony Stark!

And what he tells Stark is what Marvel Fans have been waiting for... for months!

It is no longer a 'spoiler' because some persons have already posted the special scene on You Tube from hidden camera phones... so I am blogging about it now!

For those new to us... we have ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

The photo above shows Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, not David Hasselhoff as some of older archived blog posts show in his TV Movie portrayal of Nick!  Be aware of this special scene being shown at your theater right now AFTER ALL THE CREDITS are finished running!

NOT A Store Bought Suit Of Armor!
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Comic Book Movies

NOT

A

'Store Bought'

Suit Of Armor!

WOW! That is all I could think when I saw the photo of the Iron Man Armor at the top right!

And NO, It's NOT from the Iron Man Film that was released on Friday May 2nd!

Instead it is a 'custom' 'homemade' costume built by a member of the Advanced Iron Forum that goes by the name of TMP!

TMP says that he spent between $1500 - $2000 on the materials alone, NOT including his time and other costs!

Now THAT is ONE 'Heck' of an Iron Man Fan IMHO!

That should take Grand Prize or 1st Place at several Comic Cons if he wore it on the comic con circuit IMHO!

For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and come back again!

WOW is all I can say after seeing the above pic and the others that TMP posted about creating his own Iron Man Armor based on the Iron Man Film that has just been released!

That Is One Strange Scramble !

Strange Scramble!

No, I'm not talking about a breakfast plate, even though in a lot of the world it's breakfast or brunch time as I post this blog!

Instead I'm talking about just one of the many scrambled word pages in one of Marvel Comic's titles that were aimed for kids at one time!

The comic book series was titled 'Fun And Games' and was a regular sized comic book even though it was a compilation of mazes, word scrambles, coloring pages, trivia tests, etc.!

Due to the fact that most of these 'interactive' comics were written in or cut out or even colored... the odds of finding a Near Mint (NM) copy today is actually harder than one would think it would be!

We have several issues in varying condition grades listed for sale at this time, and wanted to bring this to our readers' attention as these have been an undervalued and overlooked comic book series but are being looked for today by collectors!

For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and come back again!
