LOIS LANE...

PLAIN JANE OR

'HOT' LIKE TERI HATCHER?

(Due to the NEW 'squeezed' format eBay Blogs is now served in, our posts will be shorter in length so as to not scroll down forever!)

We have just listed our 'Lois Lane' comics for a collector to see in our eBay Featured Store.

At the same time I want to make sure all parties interested in Lois Lane Comics also see them.

Lois Lane has not had a comic book series for a while... and it has been a neglected collectible for several years.

Lately we have been seeing more interest in the title, possibly because of the new DVDs of 'Lois and Clark' on the market, and the DVDs of 'Smallville'. Possibly renewing interest in the title??

My own personal interest of 'Lois Lane' was first due to the old Black & White TV show episodes, which is why I read some of the early DC issues... but cancellation of the comic book ended my casual interest in the series.

My renewed interest in Lois Lane was due to Teri Hatcher portraying her.

I first noticed Teri Hatcher as the girlfriend of Dr Sam Beckett, (Scott Bakula), in an early 1989 episode of Quantum Leap, the TV Show Series.

By the time Quantum Leap needed her back for the Donna Eleese role, Teri had gone on to playing Katherine 'Kiki" Tango in the TV series 'Tango & Cash'.

She went on to play Lois Lane in the TV series 'Lois and Clark, the New Adventures of Superman'.

Today of course we all know her as playing 'Susan' in the hit TV show 'Desperate Housewives' !

The Lois Lane Comics issues we have listed in our eBay Featured Store are the last of a collection we picked up and are priced to sell! Check 'em out by clicking on photo of Teri as Lois Lane at the top left of this post!

Survivor In The 15th Season!

(Due to the NEW 'squeezed' format eBay Blogs is now served in, our TV Show posts will be shorter in length so as to not scroll down forever!)

Before we watched the 15th Season Premiere Show we caught Jeff Probst on the Glen Beck Show!

Jeff agrees that his job is one of the best and most fun on TV! And he is pleased that Last Season it was still in the Top 12 Shows on TV!

I am going to skip all the scenes that happened this premiere episode, due to the cramped space allowed here now.

Instead I am going to write about the players.

For a change, Tina thought that the first episode portrayed the players in enough spots that she could take an instant dislike or like to them!

Usually the names and faces are a blur until a few episodes into the season!

Tina dislikes Courtney already. She also says the poker player is a an idiot because he told Todd that he though Todd was 'devious'.

Tina likes the religious broadcaster who stood up for her beliefs.

I like the 'Red' team more than the 'Yellow' team as a unit so far. However no standouts for me in the first episode.

It was actually nice to hear the first player who was voted out to voice his displeasure by saying 'DAMN!!!' when he heard the verdict. that was a nice change of pace! Showed that he had invested himself in the game!

Stay 'tooned' with us for more episode adventures as the season goes by...

Kid Colt, Outlaw!

Kid Colt was the Longest Running Cowboy Star In American Comic Book Publishing !

Kid Colt's real name was Blaine Colt.  He was a cowboy fictional character who starred in his own comic book series as well as in several other titles for Timely, Atlas and Marvel Comics, all of which were owned by Publisher Martin Goodman.

Kid Colt was the longest-running cowboy star in American comic-book publishing,  being featured in stories for a 31 year run from 1948-1979. However from 1966 to the end of 1979, most of the published stories were only reprints of earlier stories. Additionally a  brief  hiatus occurred between issues #139 (April 1968) and #140 (Oct. 1969) to interrupt the run.

Pete Tumlinson wrote and drew Kid Colt's earliest stories for Timely Comics. Artist Jack Keller began his long run with the character starting with Kid Colt, Outlaw #25 (March 1953) for Atlas. Editor Stan Lee was the writer for those stories. Early cover artists for Kid Colt Outlaw included Joe Maneely, John Severin and Russ Heath.  Jack Kirby and inker Dick Ayers took over for many of the covers from the 1959-1965 time period.

Kid Colt and his horse Steel first appeared in Kid Colt #1 (August 1948), from what then called Timely Comics. The cover logo was originally subtitled "Hero of the West", but by issue  number three this logo was changed to "Kid Colt, Outlaw".

Kid Colt's origin story, as told in Kid Colt, Outlaw  #11 (Sept. 1950), had Blaine Colt being wrongly accused of murder and becoming a fugitive from the law.

Kid Colt appeared in numerous comic book series through the 1950's, including All Western Winners, Two-Gun Western and Gunsmoke Western.

During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Kid Colt appeared in the reprint title Mighty Marvel Western along with the Two-Gun Kid and the Rawhide Kid. Kid Colt additionally was published in the three-issue Giant-Size Kid Colt reprint series. His long running title series ended with #229 (April 1979).

Kid Colt, Outlaw was my favorite of the Marvel Western Comics during the 1960's.  During that time there were no comic book stores to buy back issues from, thus I was never able to complete my Kid Colt, Outlaw run at that time. From this event I learned not to attempt to collect series that were long running, which is why I mainly collected Marvel Superheroes as most of the superhero titles, other than Tales of Suspense, Tales to Astonish and Strange Tales, had started in 1961 or later. (i.e. Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Avengers, etc.) Thus I only two or three years at most to complete at that time! Not like the forty-five years of continuity kids have today!

As a footnote, the miniseries 'Blaze of Glory' from the year 2000, by writer John Ostrander and artist Leonardo Manco, featured Kid Colt in his final adventure. This grim and gritty miniseries killed off Kid Colt in the series' conclusion with issue #4, March 2000.

For those interested in more western comic books besides Kid Colt Outlaw, we have several hundred in our eBay Featured Store. Time to slap leather Pardner!

Michael
