Black Panther High Grade Comic 9.4!

Just Listed This Week For the First Time!

On Auction Format for 7 days until Sunday the 30th of September!

It closes at 19:04:47 PDT  SEP-30-07.

This issue is the middle issue of the trilogy of where the Black Panther went after the Klan in the comic book title 'Marvel Premiere'.

The exact issues were #51 - 52 - 53.  These are good reading and we have sent a few for encapuslation purposes due to their NM (Near Mint) or better grade.

Comics do tackle some serious issues, it is not all 'funnybook' material like it was in the mid 1950's to early 1960's.

We also have reading copies of these issues, should you have interest in reading this trilogy. Just click on the comic book cover to the top left to view the listings!

Will Be Appearing On NBC's 'Heroes' TV Show Soon!

Sci-fi Legend Nichelle Nichols, (Uhura), will join fellow alumni Trekker George Takei, (Sulu), as a recurring player on the hit NBC TV Show series!

She will be appearing in the upcoming season's fourth episode and will play Nana, a New Orleans 'doyenne' whose daughter died during Hurricane Katrina.

"Nana is tough and undaunted and — like the blues — she just keeps rising to the occasion," Nichols says in a recent interview.

Her character, who is in dire financial straits, has moved back into her once-flooded New Orleans home. There she cares for her two grandchildren.

One of the grandchildren, new 'Hero' Monica, (The Nine's Dana Davis), is an 'avenging angel' who is intent on bringing justice to the corruption-plagued Big Easy!

As an additional tie-in to the show, Nana is also a great-aunt to Micah, the young 'Hero' played by series regular Noah Gray-Cabey.

For those of you that are interested in Star Trek Comics, just click on the top left photo of Nichelle!

Dr. Spektor's Special Appearance in Gold Key Spotlight #8 Ends On Sunday Sept 28th!

21:03:33 PDT

Who was Doctor Spektor you ask?

He was a fictional comic book character that appeared in Western Publishing's Gold Key Comics!

Dr Spektor was co-created by the writer Donald Glut and artist Dan Spiegle.

Dr. Spektor's first appearance was in Mystery Comics Digest #5 published in July 1972.

After that first sucessfull appearance, which was only a 10 page story, Dr. Spektor was spun off into his own title, 'The Occult Files of Doctor Spektor'.

His series ran for 25 issues  from May 1973 to May 1982.

Since comic book readership was thought to 'turn over' every 5-6 years the final issue was a reprint of #1.

Another good Gold Key artist, Jesse Santos, had earlier replaced Speigle as the artist on the series, and stayed there for the end of the print run.

Additionally Dr. Spektor appeared in four issues of Gold Key's 'Spine-Tingling Tales'.

In that series he provided  narration for the stories within the comic book.

Dr. Spektor also appeared in one issue of Gold Key Spotlight, issue #8 which we listed tonight for auction, see top left photo.

This was published in August 1977, which unfortunately was his last original appearance in the Gold Key Comics Universe!

Please note that we have a few issues left from a collection we picked up, including one that was high grade enough for CGC grading.

So The Movie Is Back On Track!

Matthew Vaughan was named director for the 'Thor' Movie that is tracked for release in the year 2009.

Matthew was the director of 'Stardust', which didn't do as well at the box office as people were expecting it to!  Even Tina thought it looked good at the Comic Con Preview Program, and she is a harder critic than I am!!

The script is supposed to be written by Mark Protosevich, of 'I Am Legend'....

Ok, so who's the 'Thunder God' Thor going to be.....?

Stay tooned for more, we'll blog about it when we find out!

Conan Movie... Where's Red Sonja's! HEROES TV Show Exclusive Comic Book!

A She-Hulk Movie?

Sure!  Especially after what Tina and I saw of the upcoming 'Hulk' Movie at the SDCC program in July!

Click Here to see Tina's 'Take' on that preview program!

(Note: Please Pardon the 'distortion' of the post, eBay has changed blog format again since this was first posted!)

OK, we know that in the late 1980s, Marvel Comics approached Brigitte Nielsen to pose for photographs dressed as the comic book character She-Hulk.

Brigitte had previously impressed the company with her prior portrayal of their character Red Sonja and accordingly they hoped she would prove just as successful in a new movie venture.

Unfortunately the photos that were produced did not enlicit a large amount of investors in the potential film and Marvel was forced to scrap the project.

The middle left photo shows Brigitte modelling a skimpy outfit and I 'photoshopped' the photo to reflect a greenish hue about her, as the She-Hulk is green like her cousin the Incredible Hulk!  You can see that Brigitte definitely had the body double of the She-Hulk at that time!

There are very few pics of Brigitte dressed as the She-Hulk, with the one to the top left being one of those.  As you can see by comparing the two aforementioned photos, Brigitte would have come across very well as the She-Hulk, alter ego of Jennifer Walters, who is a lawyer in her day job.

Since I first blogged about this previous non-movie, there has been some interest in producing a movie with the She-Hulk. We will keep you blogged on details as they come up!

She-Hulk is currently being published in a on-going title, and up to issue #22 this series!

I personally enjoyed the second comics series, which had John Byrne write and pencil the series, where She-Hulk would break the 'fourth wall' and talk to readers of the comics, knowing that she was in a comic book with her adventures being told.  Kind of a strange humour book, but when reading the comic it makes more sense...

That wraps it up for this blog post... But I wanna see She-Hulk in a movie, not her less 'incredible' Hulk cousin's next movie!
